A few months ago, I posted that the difference between The SHIELD and The Nexus was that each member of the SHIELD is booked as an Upper-Midcarder or even a main eventer, and the Nexus was booked as goonsquad-esque bunch of lower-carders/jobbers who couldn't hold their own in a fight. Now, months into the storyline, SHIELD is undefeated, CLEAN. Their teamwork is impeccable, but every time they've been separated, they show an ability to compete at the absolute top level.
Ambrose's match with the Undertaker last week was EXTREMELY competitive, and that was with THE FREAKING UNDERTAKER.
The last time I posted this almost everyone basically said "nope they hidez behind eachotherz buriez soonz." That was like three months ago.
Are we ready to BELIEEEE IN DAH SHEEL?

Despite some of the shortcomings of the WWE's booking as of late, The Shield is the one thing that they are doing completely right.

So... they're the nWo? Next thing Ambrose will tell the fans to "STICK IT, BROTHER!", Seth Rollins will appear drunk on television while doing surveys with the crowd and we'll have "Big Sexy" Roman Reigns?

Despite some of the shortcomings of the WWE's booking as of late, The Shield is the one thing that they are doing completely right. This. The WWE has a huge problem putting their faith in new stars these days, and they still desperately need a viable megaface successor to Cena, but they're firing on all cylinders with the Shield. In my view, they've already surpassed the nWo in terms of looking strong -- the nWo had much more of the shock and awe factor, but they ballooned up quickly to the point that it looked like they needed a huge swarm of guys to hold their own. They've kept the Shield as a tight three-man group and they still come across as unstoppable. It's believable that any one of them could pull out a singles win against one of the top faces.

Wearing Body Armor kinda helps when a guy keeps trying to punch through your padding. But I agree, they are booked well and strong. Although I fully expect Ambrose to be the "jobber" despite some people's claims that he's some masterful wrestler. he doesn't suck, but Reigns/Rollins just feel like they have this aura of "it". Ambrose feels like a crappy joker wannabe that can't figure out how to be 'crazy' without sounding like he's a grown up Ralph Wiggum. If he dropped his schtick by about 50%, it wouldn't come off as being so forced. So... they're the nWo? Next thing Ambrose will tell the fans to "STICK IT, BROTHER!", Seth Rollins will appear drunk on television while doing surveys with the crowd and we'll have "Big Sexy" Roman Reigns? YES PLEASE

I agree. I think all three of them look great and WWE is doing an awesome job with them so far.

I can honestly see that if Ambrose tightened up his persona a little bit. Part of me like's Rollins for some reason i really can't describe. So I'm perfectly willing to admit I probably give him undue credit.

To me it seems like WWE is taking lessons learned from the mistakes they made with Nexus and doing The Shield right.

Isn't it amazing what a good idea, that's well executed, can do?
In one of the news and note threads, there was a blurb about Triple H being hesitant to call up young talent, without knowing what to do with them, when they get there. And if The Shiels is any indication, of the kinds of things creative wants to do with new call-ups, that's a good think.

If DDP was revealed as the leader of The Shield and it turns out that they're just pissed off yoga enthusiast. I'd mark.

I keep saying that when The Shield splits, Rollins and Reigns will be mega faces! Rollins has "it." Like he has that weird Jeff Hardy charisma despite being mute for most of his career or having bad promos. Reigns just impresses me more and more I believe he will end up being Batista 2.0. Ambrose will be a mega heel for many years until the fans get tired of booing him and turn him face.

He's dark, he's cool, he sells like a madman, has sudden offense, and a look that sticks out. How does that not work out? I don't know if Reigns will ever be on THAT level, I see him more as an upper-midcard face that gets booked to kick the asses of whiny out-of-line heels. And yeah, Ambrose will be a top heel for years until he gets CM Punk'd.

Honestly we have to thank Mick Foley for the birth of the Shield if wasn't for him wanting to abort the angle with Ambrose who knows what may have happened. I love the Shield and have since day one

I have my skepticisms that as soon as they break apart they'll all be given acts that are wild departures from their Shield personas and it's going to be sink or swim for them. I hope for the best, Dean Ambrose has a believable charisma that is absolutely rare today, Seth Rollins is a "holy shit" highlight package waiting to happen and Roman Reigns looks genuinely badass which is another hard thing to find today.
