How well are they known outside of Canada?
These are probably their two most famous songs.

I was hoping it would have been about the cartoon series or the video game. I only know of their one song and the parody Weird Al did

All I really enjoyed from them was that it was one of Magic Voice's "punishments" to Crow and Tom Servo about taking Mike for granted.

Afternoons and Coffeespoons and Peter Pumpkinhead Those were the other two songs I was gonna mention but wasn't sure how well known they were. Peter Pumpkinhead is on the dumb and dumber soundtrack but wasn't sure if anyone knew it was them.

They are a good example, I think, of a Weird Al parody having more staying power than the original song. Which is saying something since the parody is nothing but references to early 90's news stories.

Interesting trivia. The Lead singer of Crash Test Dummies used to play with Chris Jericho back in the day.
Also, I'm glad someone brought up the Weird Al parody. I have a question about the verses of that song.
1st verse - Went to Singapore with spray paint, Cane marks on bottom from when the Warden hit him so hard. 2st verse - Figure skater say a girl who was better, paid guy to hit her in the kneecap. 3rd verse - Angry wife cuts off wiener, Mr Happy is missing
The second and third verses are obviously Tonya Harding and Alana Bobbit. But what's the first verse about? I don't remember.

He was caught on a vandalism spree and his punishment included six strikes with a cane. The U.S. lobbied Singapore not to cane him. They reduced the strikes to four instead of six. This ordeal became a big media story for a time in the U.S. Also, it has a wrestling connection! This inspired the angle where Sandman used a Singapore cane on Tommy Dreamer and it became Sandman's signature weapon and later a staple of ECW.

I'd have to say that the episode of Simpsons where Bart get's booted in Australia has to be influenced by this story.

Well I guess that the way they saw it was the government bowing down to the Americans and if this was if this was a local kid he would of just had to take the 6 or more strikes and be done with it. Also at the same a 16 year old boy from Hong Kong was arrested and accursed of doing the same and he had to spend 8 months in Jail and got 12 strikes with a cane, no one kicked up a fuss about that one. Though we lived next door to this American couple and their daughter went to school with fay. According to her the guy was a real dick.

I remember during the whole thing,Fay always insisted he was innocent. The funny thing about ecw is that they are using a kendo stick, but still call it a singapore cane.
