The Shareholders were already scary enough without a UFC guy as their public face.

Its amazing how many people miss the fact that Chael is playing a heel and think his words are real. Almost like this isn't a wrestling forum. How is he going for heel heat by saying that he's going to buy the WWE? Everyone knows that it's not getting sold for a long time if ever, so ultimately it becomes some guy talking just to hear himself talk. I meant in general, his whole body of work and people's reactions. In this case, even if that's not possible when did heels stop making random unreasonable claims?

Here's the thing with it though, if the guy is playing a heel character who is he supposed to be getting heat on? Vince? HHH? Stephanie? Heels say things to rile up a crowd to generate heat on themselves for the purpose of transferring that heat to the face that does the interruption/save. In this case it's just a guy that is talking bullshit and has bought into his 'heel character' too much, IMO.

Only on this forum could a man have a record of 27-13-1, be an extremely talented wrestler and not be considered credible. C'mon, ya'll. Quite. I think alot of the hate comes from the fact he was calling Anderson Silva, who everyone seems to love. Personally, I think Anderson's over rated and boring. The thing that pissed me off most before the second match was people acting like Chael got his ass kicked first time. Way I remember it, Anderson got the living snot punched out of him and managed to get a lucky triangle armbar. Gracie got the snot beat out of him too. Did he win by "lucking out?" Also, no one's saying Chael isn't credible; he wouldn't be a constant contender for titles if he wasn't. But he sure isn't as credible as he thinks he is, otherwise he'd have beaten Silva (after two separate bites at the apple) or Jones. A lot like Nick Diaz IMHO, he's a good fighter but not as good as he thinks. Should try a little less talking and a little more training.

Does it matter, these claims make people go "mad" at him, look at this thread, look at MMA forums. He's just continuing his way of saying outrageous things. Not everything is supposed to have an immediate impact. What if he was to go to WWE in 3 years? He has already an established connection because of claims like these or comments on Vince vs Dana and whatever he has said or might said about WWE. Chael Sonnen is a businessman, he wouldn't be one of top 5 draws in UFC if he was just "believing" his heel schtick was real. The man is planting seeds regardless of what may or may not happen in future.

Not saying anything about you but the notion that everyone loves Anderson Silva is akin to saying that the World is flat. Many, many, many, many, many, many, many people dislike him. Even if you're talking about on here, he's not well liked, which is part of his persona, imo.

The thing I'm most shocked about is that the WWE is only worth 1/2 a billion. Thought it would be more than that x I think it was or was to close to being a billion dollar company during the attitude era from what I have read, it has just decreased obviously a lot since then.

Assuming you're talking about Dan Severn v Gracie, Gracie was still in control for the majority of the time. Silva spent most of the fight on the defensive and managed to take advantage of a slip of Chael's part. Maybe saying lucky wasn't the best choice, but still, people go on like Chael's nowhere near Anderson's level all time, and it just annoys me. Now Chael and Jones.... Yeah, that's a different story. Also, in reply to KingOrange, from what I've seen and heard, the majority seem to like him, although mostly casual fans. Could just be a vocal minority, but it's what I've seen.

Did he set up a press conference letting all the press in attendance know, which ended up being only TMZ? Or did someone from TMZ go up to him (or his rep), the way they come up to all celebrities they post on their website, asking him if he was going to go to the WWE now that he's failed to win a title in the UFC, and he responded saying he was going to buy it just to mess around with them. I'd imagine he would say something like that facetiously after being asked about it so many times.

Go home, Chael...you're drunk. Chael Sonnen doesn't get drunk on alcohol. Alcohol gets drunk on Chael Sonnen.

More like I know he's being a heel, but it's so ineffective. What does this do for Chael Sonnen, randomly saying "yeah imma buy WWE"? Everyone's just like "yep...no one cares. thank you for further proving this point." It does nothing for him. The thing about heels in wrestling...they get booked to win sometimes, to give them some cred. A real fighter that can't win a fight playing a "heel" = pointless. Sure, we're talking about him now, big whoop. Is this putting any money in Chael's pocket? This all pub = good pub idea is such a fabrication. Chael's 'publicity' just makes him look like more of a fool all the time. I was somewhat of a fan of the guy the last couple years, but it's pathetic now.

Kevin Nash reads this article, a gleam of joy in his eyes.
He smiles softly. "Double work" he whispers, his voice filled with pride.

PPV's he's on do great numbers and he gets a % of every buy. Do you believe that he just got 50k for last fight. That's just a base. He'll make 10x that when they see the number of buys. Not bad for a big mouth. So, your post is some ideal fantasy world gibberish. "Socialistic Canada" as Chael P. would say.

But the gravy train is screeching to a halt because he's failed to back his mouth up too many times. Saying shit like this does nothing for him, was my point. I don't see how this is him being a "heel" and working people, because it's more of a obvious troll is obvious situation.

I get how having a big mouth helps you in MMA, but I don't really see how it works when you're spouting off about things that have nothing to do with anything?
Like, what's the end goal here? Is he looking to fight Vince?

Everything does something. Even if this leads to nothing it will be another week of people talking about Chael. Exposure, potential fight with Wanderlei, trash talking, all that keeps him in media. And for most part that will keep him relevant enough so people will again tune hoping to see the big mouth get his ass kicked. Heel 1.01 only in MMA world.

Man, it'll suck to be Chael Sonnen right now. The only way he can stay relevant is by making outrageous claims and hope people care about him beyond "winning the silver" in a fight that happened 2 years ago.
