Since Kenta Kobashi is retiring from the ring this weekend I thought I would ask all of you if you have ever been in the arena live for someones last match. This can include retirement, career ending injury or the last match before someone died.
For me personally, I saw Umaga's last match in Sydney Australia. I believe he beat Mr Kennedy and died just a few days later after returning home. It was very hard to believe because he looked relatively healthy that night in Sydney.

In addition to Allison Danger, I also saw British wrestler Jon Ryan's last match, which was a deathmatch with Jimmy Havoc. It wasn't announced as his last match until the following day.

I was at WrestleMania XXVII for Edge's last match. Sadly I was at the concession stand for most of his match.

I saw what was announced as some guy's last match at an EWF show in Southern California in 2007 (I think). Don't remember the guys name and not sure if he wrestled again later, but they announced at the event that he was leaving wrestling to pursue a master's degree.

WCW Road Wild in Sturgis (can't remember year) Hogan vs. Nash in a loser retires match, Nash lost and never ever wrestled ever again..

Saw Allison Danger's last match. Saw what everyone thought would be Cabana's final ROH match in 2007.
Almost spent a ton of money to go to Orlando and see Flair's last match, but didn't. I will never doubt my gut feelings again.

I'll ask around and see what I can come up with. Back on topic, I don't think I've ever been at someone's last match, but I was in class one day, and one of the guys landed wrong on a leapfrog and popped his knee out of his socket(aggravating an old injury). To the best of my knowledge, he retired right then and there. |

I saw what was either Kamala's final match or one of his next to last matches. Was back in October 2010. Not that long after that is when he had a leg amputated.
