Here in a Halifax they are a pretty popular food. We even have a semi-famous street corner in our city that's known for selling them. In fact in 1995 during the G7 summit, many of the world leaders made it a point to go to Pizza Corner to try a Donair. So I'm wondering, who here has eaten a donair? Personally I like Donair pizza the best Also known as shawarma or a gyro

I just love how Edmonton is filled with donair stops. Almost more donair shops then Liquor stores. I remember Dustin Penner saying in his press conference when he was traded how he's going to miss the donairs

Personally I like Donair pizza the best Also known as shawarma or a gyro Before I became a vegetarian and back when I still lived in Atlantic Canada, I used to eat donairs. I have and still eat gyros (only now I have them with felafel) on occasion. The reason I mention donairs and gyros separately is the sauce. I don't think the sauce that I have had on gyros is the same sauce used on donairs. Do air sauce has a slightly sweet, garlic-tinged flavor (in Atlantic Canada, donair sauce is used as a dip for garlic fingers and pizza crust).

Donair?
Is that just a fancy way of trying to sell a doner kebab?
Here in the UK doner kebab is the food of choice for drunks on a Saturday night, usually served with a hot chilli sauce or with garlic mayo.
And grease.
Lots and lots of grease.
