..that are still your favorite today. Who is it?
I'd have to go with Gorillaz.

Burial. Often imitated, never bettered.

I really hard to choose. Maybe Kesha? I know.

Even though they were in bands in the 90s, The Mars Volta is up there.
Also... Jessie Ware is my favorite new artist in years and years, Burial is a great pick as well, one of the very best modern electronic acts.

Although it was short-lived, can I pick Zwan?
Some of Billy Corgan's best stuff is to be found on Zwan bootlegs.

I will nominate 'The National'
Bit low key but they have released some solid stuff over that decade. If you have not heard of them... well you know those cool songs at the end of the movie 'Warrior' (About Today), that song in 'Portal 2' that is not the Glados one or the turret opera (Exile Vilify), and that song at the end of the Kings Landing battle episode of 'Game of Thrones'(The Rains of Castomere)... All by 'The National'

The Futureheads probably. Honorable mentions to Biffy Clyro, Coldplay, The Killers, Bring Me The Horizon and Gallows.
Think Muse deserve a mention as well because their best material came out in the 00's even if they started late 90's. Slipknot were also consistently awesome throughout the decade.

Close between Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and Lady Gaga. Other than that I don't think I can say I've been big on any recent artist.

Probably Frank Turner.
Black Stone Cherry, Bring Me The Horizon and Avenged Sevenfold would also be up there.

I would say The Strokes if they hadn't fallen off a cliff after Room On Fire (which itself wasn't half as good as Is This It).
