This is a match from 1997 for Michinoku Pro in Japan. An interpromotional card of sorts featuring Taker, Candido and Taka Michinoku who were all WWE Stars at the time.
Has the WWE ever done anything like this since? I know they allowed ECW but I'm thinking more international stuff. I didn't even know this card existed and can only assume WWF let them have Taker, Candido and Taka for the night to be nice and make their show a little more special.

There was the All Japan/WWF Wrestling Summit in April 13, 1990 at the Tokyo Dome. The Bret Hart vs. Tiger Mask II match on Bret's last DVD set came from that show. www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=23081

WWF did a cross promotion with All-Japan in the early 90s. With Stan Hansen vs. Hogan
That Taker vs. Hakushi match is awesome just for the entrances alone. Hakushi has apparently been buried and dug up to get to the ring!

Might have been part of the deal to bring in a bunch of the M-Pro guys to the WWF that year. You weren't going to get Great Sasuke & TAKA Michinoku in the WWF without a little give-and-take.

Candido was still with the WWF in 1997?
