Cool Lupin. What are you running. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.
I just got the drag bug after tracking my car, against some of my friends cars. I have a friend who has a buttload of money and land and build a cheap quarter-mile strip on his ranch where we go on time trials. I know this is the "backyard rasslin'" version of what you are doing and I don't mean to disrespect what you are doing.
On an official track I got a 13.1 on my stock ride in cold weather.

By the way, the party's practically over, but I finally saw the Sao Paolo Indy from a few weeks ago and it certainly lived up to the hype. Those last 30 laps were beyond bonkers and that move Hinch pulled on Sato on the last corner for the win reminded me a bit of Zanardi on Herta in '96 at Laguna Seca. Obviously not the same yet in terms of significance and infamy, but it was a similar potentially career-defining, ballsy move that proved wise and effective in the end by an up-and-coming driver.

I know there's not very many Drag Racing fans here, but I thought you guys might enjoy this. I took some videos already this year in the race car with my new GoPro. First pass on the track last Sunday. Are you driving a pre-97 Chevy Camaro? The interior certainly reminds me of one.

Very random, but you know, for the fun and science of it, I'd love to see an Indycar test at Daytona or Talladega. Just to see how freaking fast they could go. Pretty much just for fun along the lines of the recent unrestricted tests at Talladega, which were, well, pretty much to see how fast they could go.
Granted, the track would have to be absolutely pristine beforehand because the slightest bit of anything would make Mario Andretti's shunt in 2003 look like small peas.

At least what you're doing is off the streets. For my car, the quickest I've run is 11.66 at 115 MPH. This is the third year I've raced this car, been racing for 12 years now at the same track. On a day when conditions aren't so great, the car usually averages around 11.90. When conditions are great, around 11.75. Which isn't bad for a crate LSX motor. It had an LS1 motor in it, but I spun a rod bearing the first race back in 2011. Instead of fixing it, Dad was like, "Screw it. Let's just put an LSX motor in it." What kind of car do you race, if I may ask?

So freaking happy to see DJ get in. Been my favorite driver since 1997 when I first started watching. With the talent present in the HOF nomination pool, I didn't think DJ would make it for at least a few years. This proves he's a great man, great racer, and in his later years, a great ambassador to the sport. The REAL Dale to drive the #88!
Also, I must say I'm happy NASCAR is not just looking at the top series for induction possibilities. Following in Richie Evans' shoes last year, we got Jack Ingram this year. Celebrated Sportsman driver who would win whats now called the Nationwide Series Championship two times. Also won 31 times in Nationwide, a record that stood until 1997 when Mark Martin surpassed it.
Tim Flock was practically the only lock of the bunch, and rightfully so. He tore the series a new butthole in the 1950's with dominance not before seen. Up to this point, he has the most career victories without a HOF induction.
Fireball Roberts carried himself as a larger than life racer, one of NASCAR's first break-out drivers. While Glen earned his nickname through his baseball days, he sadly died in a fireball (well, complications of it) during the World 600 in 1964. Ned Jarrett helped get Fireball out of the car, but not quick enough to save him of massive burns.
Lastly, Maurice Petty. Behind every great driver lies a bulletproof engine tuner. 200+ wins. 8 Daytona 500 wins. 7 championships. The man knew how to coax every last horsepower out of any manufacturer, although he was most famous with Hemis. The FOURTH Petty family member in (Lee, Richard, and cousin Dale Inman) the HOF with outstanding credentials all his own.

And here was the second pass on Sunday.
Thought I'd do a side view, because I always liked those in-camera side views like in NASCAR and the Pro Stock guys in NHRA.

What kind of car do you race, if I may ask? Race in a generous term, but the car I mentioned is my daily driver car, a 2007 Infiniti G35S (Nissan 350GT Skyline for those out of the US) with an Injen CAI, Fast Intentions exhaust, and an Osiris engine map(tune). I just got another hobby car, an 82 Corvette, but I am debating on what direction I am going to go with it, restoration or just say F it and go full out drag racer rig.

I know it is a little late for Lenny, but this weeks Mythbusters is called the Indy car special. It has already aired, but the repeat is on at 1 AM central time.

Well, that makes things interesting. Maybe since Indy Lights is pretty much dead, they could be trying to finagle something to make the USAC series back into part of the Indycar ladder like it was way back in the day?

It'd be nice, especially with Indy Lights being pretty well crap these days, aside from a few promising drivers. Not that I hate foreign drivers, but having more drivers from the USA certainly would most likely help attendance and ratings in the States. Doesn't hurt that a former USAC driver is on the pole for the 500.

But then again, it sounds like you have some nice additions on your car as well. As for the 82 Corvette, go both ways. Make it Pro Street.

In what I believe is his 3rd (points race) qualifying attempt and will be his 2nd full (points) race since coming back from a broken back, Denny Hamlin not only wins the pole for the Coke Too Long but set a track record at 195.624 mph (27.604 seconds). All in all, 8 drivers beat the previous record held by Greg Biffle, 193.708 mph.

To be honest I am shocked at the 13.1, I even framed the receipt and keep it on my desk. I just wish I could take her out to a proper race track and see what it does on the turns. At least the Texas Hill Country has some nice twisty backroads. As for the 'vette, I am probably working on just getting it running, it has been dormant for about 20 years. My friend wants to swap it for a well kept 97 WRX, but I kind of want to play around with a late 90's MR2, I got the rice bug.
