I have no idea why Bader got shunned either. Unless he gets that unfair label of "boring." That label is exactly why he got shunned, unfortunately. Also, he's a gatekeeper who has lost many times, badly. When he wins, it's usually a candidate for worst fight of the year. He lost to Tito, people!

Yeah, I'll never buy Bader as a genuine contender. I have a hard time imagining anyone talking about him deserving a shot if Bones didn't have a little too much to drink/smoke/snort.

I think he's certainly a good enough contender compared to someone who lost his last fight against the man who lost to the champ.

Jacob 'Stitch' Duran has been fired by the UFC after making some disparaging comments about the dogshit Reebok deal.

So many thoughts....
Dana's Twitter implosion tonight is nothing new. He's an incredibly oversensitive crybaby when it comes to criticism. Most of the people he's trolling tonight are not being unreasonable when it comes to their issues with Reebok and Stitch's unceremonious firing. When the President of a fight promotion acts like a 12 year old on social media and makes fun of people's profile pic/lack of Twitter followers/lack of personal life being on the internet, any self-respecting promotion would can that guy. In the UFC, he's celebrated. It's absurd.
He's probably pissed at the 1-2 punch of that HBO Real Sports piece on the connection between MMA and domestic violence and now the overall displeasure coming his way over the firing of arguably the best cutman in the business over some relatively lukewarm comments about this new Reebok deal.
It's quite fascinating to see the overall reaction of Stitch's firing to be the straw that's breaking the camel's back with people. Here's a guy who, by at large, shouldn't have been really noticed. A cutman's job is very important, but it's one of those jobs that is done without being seen if it makes any sense. You're not really supposed to notice that he's there, but because of his resemblance to Edward James Olmos and Geraldo Rivera and the fact that he's been with the UFC for 15 years at every single major fight putting vaseline on the fighters' face, checking up on them in between rounds and looking them over after a fight is finished, he arguably has gotten more face time than anyone in the UFC.
But here we are, massive outrage over the dumping of a guy who simply said that this Reebok was costing him sponsor money, much like it has with 90% of the fighters. What is wrong about making a declarative statement that was accurate? And it wasn't malicious either. He didn't say a negative word about Zuffa or Reebok.
Perhaps what set Zuffa off was he basically said what is the open secret with fight promotions. He brought up the independent contractor status. He admitted that Zuffa strongly condemns cutmen to do business with other fight promotions even though they technically can't prevent you from doing so. But the threat is usually intimidating enough for people who not explore work with other promotions.
But Stitch's dilemma is an obvious one. If he's losing money over sponsorships on his vest, he has to make up that lost revenue somehow. So what's he to do? He's got to find more work. So expressing this point could have possibly put him on the unemployment line? Ridiculous.
And here's the silver lining. He's probably gonna end up making MORE money in the end of all this. Because he can go into boxing now and be the cutman for some of the top guys potentially (already works with the Klitschkos) AND keep his sponsors.
As for the UFC? They now have another flaming bag of public relations shit they got to deal with. And Dana's petulant man-child act doesn't help matters. This guy should have a million other things he should be doing with his time than to insult people who quite possibly spend money on his product and now have a very good reason not to spend money on that product ever again.
Dana has always acted like a bully to people he thinks he can boss around. I sincerely hope that some day he gets what's coming to him. I'm tired of his fake alpha male midlife crisis bullshit. It might have been a breath of fresh air at one point to see the President talking like his fans, but you realize that he's just an egomanical prick who's lost touch with reality and has comfortably settled in a groove of being a greedy, manipulative bastard without any sense of self-awareness whatsoever.
The UFC is making me embarrassed to be a MMA fan.

The sad thing is that Dana White has said so many ridiculous and bullshit things over the years but no one in the general sports media seems to care enough to call him out over.

Looks like Condit is getting the next shot at Lawler, with Hendricks getting Woodley. No date for either but later this year.
Lawler vs. Condit has FOTY written all over it.

If Lawler defends against Condit then Hendricks he's on track to being the most entertaining WW champ in UFC history. Technically nowhere near as dominant as GSP, but GSP's fights are boring as shit.

Was coming to post this since Hendricks has gotten wind of this, even though nothing is official, and safe to say he is quite unhappy. I can sort of understand why since he and Woodley both have victories over Condit, but the fight fan in me wants to see Lawler-Condit in the worst way!!

Well it looks like it will being taking place at UFC 194 in Calgary which means we should all cross our fingers considering how cursed UFC 149 was. Though this does make me wonder what the hell are the UFC going to do with UFC 193 as they wanted to try full a stadium with that one.

If so awesome that Lawler is fighting again so relatively soon. Really looking forward to this one. In other news Barao made weight for to night's fight...somehow. If Dillashaw doesn't finish him his kidneys will.

Wanderlei Silva's accusations that UFC fixes fights (including Mendes vs. McGregor) seem to have pushed Dana White too far because UFC has filed a lawsuit against Wandy for "Intentional Misconduct."
In other news, Joesph Duffy will headline the return to Dublin when he faces Dustin Poirier.

Lancers mentioned this segment earlier on this page but, here it is: HBO's Real Sports report on domestic violence and Mixed Martial Arts. Warning: Serious adult language and conduct. Multiple descriptions of rape and domestic violence, as well as excepts from the bone-chilling 911 call that led to War Machine's arrest. Here's the segment on Youtube. As expected, there are a lot of fans who are going nuts on this report using the kind of tactics and rhetoric you would expect out of a report like this: Victim-blaming, slut-shaming, and strawman arguments about HBO's history with boxing, even though they mention boxing's recent and historical issues with domestic violence. Now I see why Dana White gets away with the kind of bullshit he says, because of fans like that. EDIT: I decided to embed the link.

I mean no one thought he was going to win his last fight using the bar room brawling style he did, but that's what happened. Dude is a gangster.

Odds the UFC tries to put McGregor/Aldo, Rousey/Tate3 and Punk's debut on the same card?
