I've never understood the hate for that. Batman understands that you gotta pay for stuff sometimes. Unlike that cheapass Superman that never seems to carry a wallet. You know Supes saving the world and all is pretty nice, but you still gotta pay for that hotdog. The vendor still has to feed his family.
edit: I totally said FEED HIS FAMILY... not feel. Maybe. But it raises the question where the hell does the bill go? The bat cave? Then does someone in visa/MasterCard know the location? Wouldn't that be counter intuitive of a secret base. Or if it goes to Bruce Wayne wouldn't that be a major flag of who batman is? Also I'll back up the prequels. They're not as good as 4-6 but they made the lightsaber fights in 1-3 are much more interesting than the originals.

A drunken Kanye West taking the mic from Taylor Swift.
Douche move? Sure. Worth the massive backlash that had damn near everybody in America calling him the worst human being ever? Absolutely not.

I do actually think the fact that the expiry date on the Bat Credit Card was 'Forever' was actually funny. I mean the card itself is beyond stupid I still think but it doesn't induce rage in me
Personally I think the furore over Bieber hoping Anne Frank would be a Belieber was a bit much. Is the phrase Belieber stupid? Yes. Is it sad that that's the only think he could think to write? Yes. But it's not like he was offensive (At least I didn't think it was, stupid yes, offensive no). Yeah I dislike his music as much as the next guy but c'mon

The Star Wars prequels deserve every bit of shit they got. They were illogical, horribly written, horribly acted, and made the Jedis look like the stupidest people in the universe. Wile E. Coyote could've outsmarted them. Some of the action was great, as were the visuals, but the story & characters are just the shits.

I disagree about the prequels. I saw the first two the other day and they were even worse than I remember. Beteween Jar Jar, Jake Lloyd, and that horrific romance angle, they don't get enough hate.

I think a lot of that had to do with Taylor's "innocent little sweetheart" image at the time. If Ye had interrupted, say, Pink, there might have been no controversy at all (well, aside from maybe Pink punching him in the face, but that's it). Also, Twilight as a whole. It's a shallow and fairly stupid story with a blatantly Mary Sueish lead heroine, granted, but I don't see how they made werewolves or vampires less scary. Meyer's got a right to interpret monsters anyway she wants, she isn't magically retconning every previous version of them just because her stories are popular. The more intimidating ones aren't going anywhere.

LeBron James being called a terrible person and the worst human ever for having a TV Special (with all profits given to the Boys/Girls Club) to announce what team he's playing for. agreed. though the people of Cleveland getting butthurt when Lebron won with the Heat was hilarious. Look at it from our point of view: None of our teams can win...or even come close to winning "the big one" {Super Bowl, World Series, ect). Art Model packs up the Browns and moves to Baltimore...instant Super Bowl champions the very next year. Lebron James "Greatest basketball player ever to grace the NBA" couldn't get it done in Cleveland and left for Miami...instant championship the very next year. It's very annoying, and this crap never happens to any other team in the world on this constant a basis...just to Cleveland.

I recall people wishing him cancer and worse.

It reminds me about Jon Landis' son talking about the time he explained movie rules to him. "How do you kill a vampire?" "Stake through the heart? Sunlight? Garlic?" "No, you can kill a vampire however you want. Because vampires don't exist!"

Even though I think Jar Jar could have been less of a load on the rest of the cast, I'll still defend Phantom Menace otherwise. I thought it was ok when I first saw it. But yeah, Jar-Jar was annoying as hell. I once proposed a game where you did nothing but kill Gungans while they screamed "Meesa no like this!" at you over and over. Thats what I found funny how in the The Phantom Menace video game, when you do escort messages you can kill Queen Amidala, Anakin and all characters that appeared in the film expect Jar Jar. My guess developers were smart enough to know that whoever played game the first thing they were going to do when they saw Jar Jar was to try kill him with a lightsaber.

I recall people wishing him cancer and worse. It makes him a person of questionable character because he basically held the Cavs up and made them wait for his decision pretty much crippling their chances to do anything in free agency until he made up his mind, when all the while he knew that he was leaving. He announced during his last season in Cleveland that he was going to wear #6 the next season and only two teams have 23 retired the Heat and the Bulls, so in retrospect it seems pretty transparent. If he had told Cleveland after the season that he wasn't going to re-sign he'd still be hated, but he wouldn't be vilified like he has been in Cleveland since then. Regardless it's just basketball and no one should be that emotionally invested in it to the point of burning his jersey or wishing harm to him or anything.

I usually think nerd rage is pointless and silly. It's always fine as a fan of something to hear about what you feel is a poor decision and express your opinion thusly, and on some matters it can certainly be justifiable (e.g. when creative decisions tie into larger cultural/societal issues), but the sheer rage and anger over things like movies, TV shows, comics, games, etc. ...just about any of it is over the top.
That said...the Star Wars prequels were awful, awful movies.

Oh I thought of one that's not going to give me many points with people Han/Greedo Shooting first... The reason I think people flipping out with the Han Shot first thing (besides if you want to be technical in the original print Han did NOT shoot first... as that would imply someone shot second and in the original no one else shot afterwards because you know... Greedo was kinda dead.) Anyway... it didn't matter really because even after Greedo is shot dead in a crowded bar... Han still gets up and walks away like this happens to him all the time and isn't a big deal... still giving him his moment of badassery... now if you want to complain about the way the effect originally used to make Greedo shoot then yeah... that was pretty terrible... but the act of shooting itself is nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be.

James bond drinking Heineken in Skyfall. A lot of people where complaining about how Bond drinking a beer would be a out of character moment for the sake of product placement, but if the fans bitching about it had actually read the books they would know that there are several occasions were Bond has drank beer of any sorts. Not to mention as far as product placement is done in Bond films it was much more it was much more subtle when compared to say this....

-Doc Ock taking over Spider-man's brain. for some reason some people thought it was a permanent change. though I do believe Marvel backtracked on having him hook up with Mary Jane after realizing what that would imply. Came in here to say this. It's a pretty good story honestly.

Also when a lot of hardcore otakus had a freaking meltdown over Aya Hirano (Japanese voice actress and J-pop singer for those who don't know) when she said she wasn't a virgin. I mean OMG how dear a attractive young women in her early to mid twenties enjoy having sex with her partner piff what a gigantic whoreslut.
And these types wonder why people think their creepy and dateless virgins.

I'm going to say Justin Bieber. I don't like his music, but I'm not his target audience. Also, I think the only song I've heard of his is that "Baby" song, so I've been able to avoid him. There's always been people like Beiber in the music scene. A drunken Kanye West taking the mic from Taylor Swift. Douche move? Sure. Worth the massive backlash that had damn near everybody in America calling him the worst human being ever? Absolutely not. The more intimidating ones aren't going anywhere. I think a lot of the backlash against Twilight comes from a few years ago, when I think the 2nd movie came out, and there were non-stop advertisements for it. It was all over the place, it didn't matter if you were watching Raw, South Park, White Collar, or anything else, you were going to see an ad for the movie. And there was also that Burger King commercial with the fans running up to people asking them if they were on that vampire guy's side, or werewolf dude's. It went from being something people didn't like, to being something people outright hated. And you also had the actions of some fans, such as when I bought a wrestling DVD and some lady behind me wearing a Twilight shirt told me "That wrestling crap is fake."

Easily the 2002 MLB All-Star Game. Oh My God! A meaningless exhibition in a tie for only the second time in 73 games. But that didn't stop columnists, talk show host and fans from jumping on their soapboxs and crying how baseball was RUINED because the Managers wouldn't risk the pitchers' health throwing multible innings for no reason what so ever!!!! The way they made it sound you would think that Bud Selig dug up the corpse of Babe Ruth and Katie Vicked it. Thanks to these people we now have the asinine situation where the All-Star Game determine home field advantage in the World Series (you know, instead of best record.)
It also led to some ridiculous situations. The 2008 All-Star Game went 15 innings and the was talk about having the position players pitch if they ran out of pitchers, because GOD FORBID that we have another tie. If ties are that offensive to you, just settle them with a quick round of home run derby. Or you could just accept the tie and get on with your life, but this has to end.

For baseball, I'd say the backlash against Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, and everyone else for taking PEDs. Babe Ruth was and still is celebrated, and he used corked bats and also is thought to have injected himself with animal hormones. Willie Mays and Hank Aaron admit to taking greenies. Those are 3 of the greatest, and they're in the Hall of Fame (rightfully so), and there's no backlash against them. Baseball has always had cheaters, and the Hall of Fame is full of them. Hell, Bonds and Clemens wouldn't even rank among the top 50 most despicable people in the Hall of Fame.
