So they put together a Kickstarter to try to buy the rights to mock Twilight for their August show that was wildly successful.
Wellllllllllllllllll, turns out that Summit wasn't interested in letting them do it since they think that they can still make money off the franchise and it being openly mocked in this fashion would instantly murder the money train that 12 year old girls and their middle ages mothers drive to their gates each morning.
Instead, we're getting Starship Troopers, which should be awesome as well. It was the 1st R rated film I ever got to see in theaters and a really fun movie.
But still..............f*** Twilight. That would have been epic.

What, do they think Twilight isn't being mocked as it is? If anything it would have at least shown some open-mindedness and may have gotten them some respect and possibly new viewers.

Yeah, not surprised Summit Entertainment would say no. But I will love seeing Starship Troopers being riffed in theaters and since I paid enough money, I believe I will be entitled to a digital download.

Starship Troopers, to be honest, doesnt appeal to me as Twilight or the other choices they had in case. I bet it will be good, but not as deserving.

Starship Troopers just doesn't have the same effect. It's a stupid movie, but it doesn't have that annoying following like Twilight does.

Actually, according to their post on FB, Sony might not let them give out the digital downloads (which I paid for as well) so they're trying to come up with alternative rewards.

Well, I also get a free download for one of their VODs.

Wait, they did a kickstarter and now can't do the thing the kickstarter was for? I mean, why would you go through the process unless you had a 'yes' or amazingly high 'maybe'?
