Like Florida, Texas, California..etc, Does it get cold at night there? I'm in Nova Scotia and was talking about weather with a chick from Texas. She mentioned that she's already started her summer job as a lifeguard. That got me wondering. Although we do have days here where the temp reaches 25oC (77oF) It still gets cold enough at night to need a sweater/hoodie.
Is it like that in Hot places like the ones I listed?

Sometimes it does, a lot of time it doesn't. The temperature will still drop quite a bit, but when you take into account that temperatures reach 32-40C (90-105F), they often drop to the 70's or so at night.

Mind you, I'm not a fan of the cold, but I don't like it when it's too hot either. Mid 20sC witha slight breeze is perfect for me. But at night even in the dead of summer the night still drops to single digits.

Here, there was a full month of that, which was atrocious, especially since I didn't have air conditioning in my car at the time. We can have severe weather fluctuations, but in the summer, the temperature may drop 20-30 degrees at night, which still makes it pretty warm.

Usually summers down here in Mississippi are like this. From say 10am till 11pm it is between 95 and 105 degrees. From 11pm till about 9am it is 90 degrees. There will be the odd day when it gets cooler than that but they are rare.

Unless you are up in high mountians like West Texas, Flagstaff etc then no, there is little "cold nights". As Double T said, it can still be in the 90s with no breeze and 90+ humidity in the middle of the night.

In California, it's a bit different since we don't have to deal with humidity like those in the South or East have to deal with. At the hottest, it gets anywhere from 90-110 degrees Fahrenheit, but it's a dry heat. During the summers, it gets brisk at night. Anywhere from the low 60s to mid 70s. There are some exceptions (especially in the middle of a heat wave) where it's still 80 degrees outside at midnight, but that happens maybe once or twice a year.

Florida during the summer? No. It doesn't drop below 80F, with usually high humidity.

Thanks for explaining Cali weather better than I could. However there are some variances depending on where you're located in the state. If you're in San Francisco the weather usually stays between 60○ and 75○ year round.

Pretty much, which is one reason I fell in love with Oregon when I went on a trip with my family there last summer. It was nice and cool.

When I was in Florida and California in the summer. During the nights it was anywhere around 15-25 degrees Celsius in the nights. During the nights when it was 20-25 almost everyone was wearing a hoodie or jacket except for me. I guess people from hotter states are less tolerable in colder weather just like people from the cold can barely handle the heat

Alabama's had some ADD weather the last few years. It has been raining every day since December until last week when the sun came out and it has been lovely 70-85 degree weather the last two weeks. It never rains all the time so its been crazy. Our weather is like a light switch. It changes at the drop of a hat.
