Isn't Taeler basically queen bitch in OVW? I'm pretty sure this won't be a "fanservice" thing so much as a "Taeler uses Heidi to get the title back then crushes her" thing.

A gay gimmick done right could probably be really entertaining but there are a lot of homophobes out there who could be completely turned off hence why we've never seen a full fledged homosexual character (Just hints of one)
Look at Brokeback Mountain, Absolutely phenomenal film but a lot of people won't watch it because 2 dudes kiss in it. My point basically is maybe TNA is running this in OVW to see how people react to it and if it's mostly positive they may try something in future with 2 men or women.
Obviously we now know about it so SOMEONE cares enough to wite about t and recap it, I say let it run and see how it goes. Take it to the big time if it works. A story between two gay guys could be some really intriguing television I think.

The one thing that's making me doubt this will turn out right (other than the booking) is that OVW are based in Kentucky. Their fans seem to be taking to this one well at the moment, and they're not rushing the storyline, even after the attention it's starting to get.
And it's not like Trish and Mickie either - the babyface Heidi has a thing for the bitch heel Taeler, Taeler thinks she just wants a threesome since that's every guy's fantasy, but Heidi will eventually make her come round. Plus the babyface girls like the Blossoms and Trina Thompson have her back. Good signs so far, but I'm not entirely confident they won't rush it or botch it.

No real people would say the sentances they are saying in the manner they are. Why can't pro wrestlers act normal? You mean, why can't famous people who are objectified by everyone "normal" they come into contact with act like people they can never be anymore.........? Dunno.

Yes OVW is their developmental territory, and Al Snow/Doug Williams are trainers down there, but OVW is it's own company otherwise. I know that's where issues between WWE and OVW came from was that WWE was trying to force Danny Davis to do things they wanted on their show, but they neither paid OVW nor did they book OVW. and slightly OT, my issue with Brokeback Mountain was that it was just a boring film to me.

Well, that's fine at least you gave it a shot. I guess it'd be like if someone tried to get into this story line and didn't like it, that'd be fine. A lot of my friends won't even watch it because 2 guys kiss in it though, regardless of how good the story line is.

My point is that the women, especially Taeler, delivers theirlines in a completely unbelievable manner. Taeler's facials are too over-the-top and she recites her lines in an unnatural way. It's like porno-level acting. Heidi's mannerisms after the first video are actually decent, but during the videos I'm always cosncience of Taeler's acting.

Sounds familiar? Who's stealing from whom? WWE from OVW or OVW from WWE?

Haven't watched the videos yet, but reading the summaries... This actually sounds like a really well thought out storyline, thus far. Two consenting people starting a relationship. Not one girl being creeped out by a stalker, or blackmailed into sex, or drugged, etc. That is actually kind of groundbreaking when it comes to wrestling. Hope that OVW can keep it up and not make it too exploitative.

I'm doubting this going to be like "The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love" and more like a Cinemax late night movie minus the awkward Scissor Sister. OVW has done some gay related storyline in the past year like Paradyse helping Brandon Espinosa come out of the closet and the sexual identity of Chris. This one, I have to say is fan service. They might prove me wrong but I doubt.

If it was just done for cheap thrills, they'd have been making out by week 2. I think that, if done right, it could actually be a cool commentary on how people look at gay couples. Heidi walking into the locker room and everyone going quiet and shunning her is a good example of that. I've always thought a gay angle in wrestling could and should be done, in a positive way, not like Billy & Chuck, with women instead. For one, you'll never be able to really get over a gay character as a face, because the wrestling audience, namely men, are naturally homophobic, I'm not saying they/we hate gay people, they just make them/us feel uncomfortable. You change it to women however, and men are obviously more accepting to see that. Now if the writers are smart, they can correctly balance the titillation with the social commentary. These women will be together and damn what everyone else says. The big key is just portray them as a normal couple. Just do everything you'd do with a male/female couple with the women. That's my two cents anyway. I disagree. Like, I don't know if people mention it out right, but I'm pretty sure that the Fandango character might be gay. My room mate is bisexual and doesn't watch wrestling, but when she was in the room when it was on, she loved Fandango and thought he was gay. Now, if Fandango came out as gay, I'm sure people wouldn't hate him. He'd get the same reactions as he got before. How are men naturally homophobic as well? My favourite line from Fandango this week was JBL was saying that Wade Barrett called you a Ballerina, and Fandango responds "well, I am a Ballerina" and that shut JBL up pretty fast, haha.

I'm not entirely sure what it is you are disagreeing about. The only thing I am clear on is "How are men naturally homophobic as well?". It is a generalization I admit, but one I think is true. As I said before, I'm not saying that, in general, men hate gay men. I'm saying that men, in general, feel uncomfortable around gay men so there's an uneasiness there. When you get a group of men together, it's going to be much worse. Specifically regarding Fandango, that is NEVER going to be something WWE will broach given their PG, family friendly environment. It may be a tongue in cheek joke for a webshow, but not something that's put in the angle. Other than Fandango being flamboyant, which is something male ballroom dancers generally are, there's nothing really that points to him being gay or bisexual. This isn't Goldust who was fondling his opponents. Fandango dances with a hot chick. I don't really see what your point is supposed to be.

I disagree with the idea that a gay character can't work. WWE is PG and family friendly, that doesn't mean they can't have a gay character. And i guess it is somewhat of a stereotype with Fandango being a flamboyant dancer with rainbow gear so he must be gay, but he also breaks other stereotypes being a tough pro wrestler. Lets have some subtlety.
