Pierce Brosnan in Mrs. Doubtfire. Does he even do anything wrong? they never really say he's the bad guy, though. if anything, the only mean thing he ever says is when he talks about what a loser Robin Williams' character is, and he was right. He's the bad guy for the same reason that Cary Elwes in Liar Liar is the bad guy: you're just rooting for the main character a lot more.

I think an argument could be made that until the very end Robin Williams' character was a villain protagonist.

Scar
I have no sympathy for Mufasa. He probably killed loads of cubs when he took over Pride Rock. That's usually how lions gain control of a pride. Scar was just doing what comes naturally to lions. I also doubt he was responsible for the conditions that occured after his rule began. Africa suffers from droughts all the time. Nothing he could do about it. If anything he should be given credit for bringing peace to lions and hyenas, since they are traditionally enemies.

This begins and ends with me with Rameses in "Prince of Egypt". I don't want to get too into it because I don't want to risk offending anybodies religious beliefs, but man at times God came off as a jerk and Moses as a hypocrite.

Magneto-he was a Holocaust survivor who saw shades of ethnic/genetic prejudice rising again with the mutant registration laws.

Gerard Butler in Law Abiding Citizen. I can't even watch this movie again because the ending pissed me off so much. I totally agree. How the hell am I supposed to root against the guy after what happens to his wife and child? If anything, I was against Jamie Foxx. I rooted for Butler at first, but then he started to kill people who didn't have anything to do with his family's killers. And then prosecutor Jamie Foxx in turn says "f*** [Butler's] civil rights", leaving me not really caring who wins.

Harvey Dent/ Two Face in the Dark Knight. Doc Ock in Spider Man 2 Was Harvey Dent strictly a villain in The Dark Knight, though? The only people he harmed were already corrupt (until the end, I guess.)

Randy Orton in that movie he was in. All he wanted to do was go to the papers!

The main scientist in Biodome. Anyone else locked somewhere with Paulie Shore and Stephen Baldwin would lose their mind too.

Harvey Dent/ Two Face in the Dark Knight. The whole point of Harvey Dent in that movie was to be sympathetic. He was the white knight torn down and turned into one of the people that he used to fight against.

Wait, so you have no sympathy for Mufasa based on something that didn't even happen in the movie?

Hoo boy, here's one thing I just remembered. Souther from Fist of the North Star. So among his atrocities, aside from killing a lot of people and enslaving more people, he eats his food in front oh his child slaves - a feast, and he doesn't even try to eat half of it, and just tosses the rest to the garbage. He has the slaves beaten, if I remember correctly, for trying to steal from the trash.
And then, as he's defeated, we find out that all that he's done is a misguided attempt to built a monument for his kind, not-a-psycho at all dead mentor. And Kenshiro understands. Come to think of it, I guess this is more of a case of a failed attempt at sympathy.

Harvey Dent/ Two Face in the Dark Knight. Doc Ock in Spider Man 2 Damn right on Doc Ock I shouldn't be sympathising with Otto Octavius ever .. my only annoyance with that film. ---- I'm not going to contribute as on the whole I like villains more than most heroes, and I'm always secretly kind of disappointed to see them lose to the hero. stems from my childhood being influenced by stories of monsters and dragons from myth and legend.

For me Butler crossed the line when he sent a DVD of himself torturing that guy to death to Jamie Foxxs young daughter.

Surprised that nobody's said Mr Freeze yet. His only true reason for being a villain is to get enough money to fund his research and bring his wife back.
