HHH was absent from in-ring competition for a pretty lengthy amount of time, except Mania, so much so it was accepted he was pretty much semi-retired. Now he's showing up every week wanting to wrestle every week. What happened? Why the change? Is this one last run before he retires for good?
Personally, I'd happily never see him again.

My guess is they're doing this storyline because they want to show the dramatic effects of a concussion (after they just donated a million dollars to the Sports Legacy Institute).
I wouldn't be surprised if it leads to Triple H's "retirement" (which he would come back from eventually).

I believe it's one or more of the following:
º After losing his iconic flowing locks to age and corporate image-consciousness, then losing his "best of three" series against a guy who wrestles an even lighter schedule than he does, he's testing the Samson theory
º Stephanie wouldn't let him buy a motorcycle, so he's finding another outlet for his mid-life crisis
º He never did get to finish his passionate clothes-tearing fantasy with Heyman
º Dis business
º Dis business-ah

And also dis business-ugh.

My guess, they were planning for Rock to appear more regularly, and when that fell through they panicked and decided Triple H is the closest they have to a replacement.

Because the current roster just can't cut it, in his eyes? I mean, people actually thought Mike McGuillicutty was going to be this major player just because they had Heyman introduce him. That's a bit of a face palm.

Especially since it's the same Plan B that they had in 2001.

I was tired of Trips then.
I'm tired of him now.
I'll be tired when he wins the WWE title from Cena, and when they somehow end up co-holding the WWE title and the Tag Team titles.

Because he closely resembles a gorilla.
And we know how Vince feels about apes.

Because he really wants that please don't go standing ovation he tried to get at Summerslam last year only to have the audience chant you tapped out.

They've barely mentioned Brock since the last match so I don't think they're fighting again.
