I'm sure we all have a story where we've gone to an Independent Wrestling show to see a "name" and that "name" has been a complete and utter let down. A lot of fans say this is to be expected and we shouldn't expect a "name" wrestler to compete/perform to the best of their abilities for a local independent show in the middle of nowhere.
I ask why not, I've seen a number of name guys work and have always felt ripped off from everyone except the Japanese performers and Kizarny. The rest I've seen live have let me down completely and I've usually paid good money to see them perform. I'm not talking about 80's guys who are too old to give 100% either a lot of the guys were just "indy names" or guys fresh out of WWE/TNA who are more than capable of giving at least some amount of effort.
So, As a paying customer who pays their 10-15 dollars to see a "name" what do you expect? Are you okay with a name guy just coming to your town hitting a few of his big moves and finishing or do you expect a 70-80% (Out of 100) effort and at least have the "name" attempt to entertain you and pretend he's interested in being there?

I rarely have that problem, as I usually only attend quality indies, and as I live in London, any "name" will realise they're performing in front of fans in a big city, and will up their game.

I think its a national thing rather than a London thing. You are being flown over to another continent because people want to see you. You better preform otherwise it'll look terrible if you half ass it as firstly news spreads fast in the UK scene and secondly no forigen promoter will want to use you afterwards.

Brian Kendrick was pretty disappointing. I was surprised.

I live in Australia and Al Snow, Chris Masters, Raven, Sabu, Sonjay Dutt (I was surprised also) all gave about 40-50% and this was in front of a relatively large crowd also (250-300) London is bigger than my little town but I've seen these guys take it easy on International Tours.

Mick Foley as a performer... letdown. I didn't have HIGH expectations or anything, considering this was 2010, but still. He really didn't look like he was trying.
Now, from a personal standpoint, I met the guy and thought he was awesome. Even though I couldn't afford an autograph or picture or anything, he took the time to shake my hand and even did the thumbs up for me when I did the cheap pop bit.
So it's hard for me to say I was utterly disappointed.

Seen Kamala,Chris Masters,Viscera and Bestita 666 have all had great matches at indy shows I have been too. But then Jake Roberts and most of the rest of the guys at teh Heroes of Wrestling PPV half assed it.
