Mark Henry beats Ryback, does he get a WWE Championship title shot? No, Ryback does.
Sheamus beats Mark Henry, does he get a WWE Championship title shot? No, Mark Henry does.
Sheamus better hope he loses to Sandow soon, then he can brogue kick Cena and get another opportunity to take out Cena.

After Sandow loses to Randy Orton, who feuds with Cena after throwing a latte at him. After Orton loses to Kane, who feuds with Cena after AN RKO OUT OF NOWHERE! And After Kane loses to Slater, who feuds with Cena after spilling coffee on him.

Sheamus is too busy having fun by beating up guys who are minding their own business.

I don't think you necessarily have to lose a match. All you have to do is pick a fight with John Cena and he'll give you a title shot. The man is very generous when it comes to his ememies.

It is amusing to see the current contrast in getting a title shot in the big two right now.
TNA: Okay fellas you need to qualify for the BFG Series, win most of your eleven matches, and then be victorious two times in the same night to get your title shot.
WWE: I hate you Cena. *punch*

Cena was open to all challengers, he made it clear during his promo, that he didn't care who he faced at Money in the Bank.
That might've been one of his best promos actually, crowd was very into it.

I still don't understand how Mark Henry can fly out of the void to flatten Cena and that somehow means he gets a title shot. Just...Cena just ain't trying to give anybody a non-title match? We can't have contenders that are actually in a line? Or a ranking system?
It's like...just because you punch Cena in the face or flatten him with a clothesline shouldn't make you the number one contender.

I really don't see the issue, punching Cena and laying him out is the WWE equivalent of someone calling "dibs!", and Henry just got there first since Ryback was at home, presumably eating his tights.

It also shouldn't make you a babyface to attack Cena, but it somehow always does. I love how all these so-called moments of betrayal that made you feel for guys like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and HBK in the past actually make you cheer on the heel instead today. Goofy, goody-two-shoes Cena getting annihilated seems to always register pure joy from the crowd instead of sorrow. It's hilarious.

Yup beat up Cena for the title shot. That's why faces turn into heels for Cena I can imagine if a babyface politely asked Cena for the title shot.
Sheamus: Aye Cena fella. I respect and think you're a great champion and I'm a great challenger. Over the past few months I've beaten everyone that crossed my way Henry, Show, Sandow, Cody and I think I deserve a title shot. What da ya say fella, we can have a great match, a match of the year, and win or lose you know it'd be a good fight because both of us love to fight and we both never give up! What do you say chap? you and me at money in the bank for the Dubya Dubya Eeeeee Championship.
*extends hand*
Cena: *laughs and walks away*
Sheamus: I didn't want to do this but I want to be WWE Champion
*brogue kicks Cena*
Michael Cole: What has Sheamus done?! What an act of disrespect to the champion John Cena! A sicking display of cowardness!
Jerry Lawler: Sheamus has turned his back on the WWE Universe
*Sheamus picks up mic*
Sheamus: YOUR LOCAL SPORTS TEAM SUCKS!!!!
*the cheers from the crowd turns into mega booooo's*

If Mark Henry went on a tear and beat Punk, Bryan, Ziggler and Ambrose, everyone would complain about how he wins too much. I'm excited for it. It's actually believable that Cena can lose to Henry.

When does Heath Slater get his WWE Title shot? After Alex Riley On a serious note, I wouldn't want Riley to get a title shot if it meant he had to turn heel to feud with Cena. While I'm sure Cena will go above and beyond to put the guy over as a threat, I just find heel Riley as an in-ring competitor to be boring, and as a heel character he tends to "try too hard". I want to see John Cena vs. the Alex Riley that can do drop kicks, go to the top rope and be sort of a high flyer, and run around the ring like an eight year old on a sugar high. Cena vs. Face Riley has potential to be a MOTYC, Cena vs. Heel Riley would just be tedious. If Alex Riley clotheslined Cena and just huffed and puffed and made angry faces, and squashed Zack Ryder for three weeks, I would be pissed. If Alex Riley dropkicked Cena in the face, made his RAWR F*** YEAH! face and ran around slapping hands with the fans, it would be glorious. Basically what I'm saying is, I'd rather see Riley as a face jobber (who got TV time) than a heel WWE Champion.

somewhat smarter heels can also make cena challenge them to the match after a beatdown, then refuse unless Cena puts the title on the line.cena will of course always agree. that way they can mix it up some.

Goofy, goody-two-shoes Cena getting annihilated seems to always register pure joy from the crowd instead of sorrow. It's hilarious. I'm convinced it's because John Cena is The Corporate Champion and a lot of people know it at least on a subconscious level. A lot of the kids that make up his fanbase haven't quite built up that filter to really get that Cena at times falls squarely into the uncanny valley, like when it comes to his promo styles and not-logic. It's like any semblance of humanity has been focus-tested out of him. It's weird and kinda scary. Not to underestimate the logic of his kid fanbase, because little kids are damned smart. I think "inexperienced" is the most accurate word. Hell, I'm sure you've got the kiddies that just like them some Cena and I should shut the hell up about it. It's all good really, not good television for me but eh... If Mark Henry went on a tear and beat Punk, Bryan, Ziggler and Ambrose, everyone would complain about how he wins too much. I'm excited for it. It's actually believable that Cena can lose to Henry. Hey, I'd accept that though. The idea of being number-one contender is beating people who matter in matches, WWE's GOT to cut down on people becoming the top contender just because some challenger decides to fart in the champion's dinner. Unfortunately I don't think it's any more believable Henry can win than it was for The Ryback, now had this been Henry's retirement match...

Also, frankly what would happen if someone just said "Yeah, I want a title shot"? Oddly, we saw that by proxy after Mania. Ryback comes out "Me want title! BLARG" and whatnot, and Toddy Long Holla Hollas his way to the ring to remind us that The Rock has a rematch clause. Sure, we all know he's injured but Cena's reaction was "been there, done that, I already beat him" almost word for word. So, by that logic, if you don't punch him in the face, then apparently it doesn't count.
