And Kawasaki gets his first home run of his career to tie the game. The Orioles so hate him, its funny.

Yankees acquired INF/OF Brent Lillibridge from the Cubs for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Lilli had a career game against them a couple years ago while with the White Sox, so naturally he'd end up there. Speaking of the White Sox, the Twitter question of the game (during a 9-1 laugher against the Royals - yep the Sox win one) was: "Who are these White Sox hitters and where have they been all season?" Every player in the starting line-up had at least one hit...except Tyler Flowers. Guthrie was chased out after 2 1/3 innings, and reliever Bruce Chen didn't fare any better. Two pitchers that kill the Sox every time looked so...mortal. So human. It's a good thing to see. Hector Santiago went 8 innings and looked really good.

(posted this in the wrong MLB thread before)
BTW, The Sterling call for Zoilo Almonte's HR was "And you know what Tampa is saying? 'Curses! Zoiled again!'"

Wil Myers wiped his ass with Zoilo Almonte's achievements by hitting a go-ahead grand slam off of CC Sabathia.
It's going to a long road to decline for Carsten Charles. Then again, the Rays have always hit him reasonably well.

Holy shit, Vernon Wells got a knock!

Holy shit, Vernon Wells got a knock! 7-5, Yankees on a gift judgement call by the umps. Basically their judgment was that it wasn't a ground rule double because the fan interfered with the play and if he didn't it would've stayed in the park and not bounce into the stands. Watching the replays, I agree with them.

Now that Jesse Crain's scoreless streak up to 29 innings (team record for relievers), he's probably going to be,
1) The lone White Sox All-Star, and, 2) Gone before the trading deadline.
Sox beat the Royals, that's 2 in a row and the first series win since sweeping the Marlins last month. Although Jordan Danks almost got picked off 2nd (again).

Funny that Costas called the Mets celebration "the downfall of western civilization" but says nothing about Jimmy Rollins crotch chopping.
I f***ing hate Rollins.

Wow Brian Dorsett and Todd Greene...must just need some old guys who can still crouch to play catcher for the game itself.
