You know, if they retroactively fined everyone who performed a chair shot in the WWE/WWF, they could write off the next few years of PPV losses.
.....however, HHH would then remember he's done a few himself and subsequently drop the whole thing and fire the mailroom who he'd find a way to blame for all this.

The other day someone brought up that Triple H is actually the one who decides how much the fine is for chairshots to the head according to the wellness policy.

I didn't think the shots taken in that match were that bad,I have seen some far more brutal ones in the WWE through the years.

Poor Daniel Bryan got hit in the head with a chair AND got fined for it. He won the match. It's only fair.

Even if you put your hands in front of your head to block the chair shot it's still considered a chair shot to the head and you can be fined for that. They're very strict about it.

Why does everybody assume the spot was pre-approved? There was a time where trusted vets could go out there and wing it for the most part. Sure the match's key moments were planned out, but every single moment of a wrestling match isn't planned beforehand. WWE wouldn't approve a spot which saw a chair hit a guy in the head.

You're right. I'm sure the spot wasn't approved. WWE is extremely serious about preventing concussions, in the wake of the Benoit murders. Hell, they just donated $1.5 million to Christopher Nowinski's research center.

So...Triple H is the actual COO? I thought he was just head of Talent Relations or something.

They'll fine them for $1000 to make it look good, then give them each a $1000 bonus of some sort.

My guess...
Triple H: Both of you, buy a round of drinks for the entire locker room tonight?
Punk: What about me?
Kane: Nobody cares!

I believe it. The spot was weird. It looked like Randy just reacted with the chair, rather than called it.

It's hard to not question the legitimacy of this and other "fines" just because of the nature of the business. I highly doubt Orton and Bryan went into business for themselves and just started doling out headshots just like I doubt that the Undertaker and Triple H did the same. They're all smart enough and professional enough to know better. I have a feeling Taker/HHH knew they'd be a fine but went through with it anyway because it looked good and they're oldschool like that. Vince McMahon is going to fine his own son in law, who's the heir to the company throne?
