Don't get much love these days but back then it saved Transformers after the G2 line failed. SO always was a fan.

My favourite Transformers show of all time for all types of reasons.
1.has EASILY my favourite version of Megatron 2.Rattrap is awesome 3.Waspinator>>>StarScream 4.Blue Gorilla on a flying surfboard vs Rollerskating purple headed T-rex 5.Inferno 6.Dinobots death IMO trumps even the great optimus primes death
6.The show is awesome from beginning to end even though by the end characters (coughdepthchargecough) became nothing but fodder.

Beast Wars? What is this Beast Wars you speak of?
OH was it anything that show Beasties which just happened to have had the same art style, character roster, music and voice actors per chance?
Yeah I know it was the same show with a less violent name because YTV's standard and practices people were weird.
A trend that continued until recently with their sister station Treehouse blanking out the word "loser" from several first season episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but not for any of the episodes in the second season and onwards. But I digress.

I don't remember much about this one. I do remember Quickstrike...he was cool. Megatron as a T-Rex was pretty neat as well. I actually remember more about the Beast Wars PSX game than I do the series. I might have to check it out sometime to refresh my memory.

I picked up the series last year and it was worth every single penny, it was my absolute favorite show in the 90s and the best Transformers show of all time. Nothing that came before or after it has ever gotten close to it's greatness.

Transmetal 2 Megatron (aka Dragon Megatron) is one of my favorite designs EVER.
Of course, the show was ruled mostly by Dinobot, as the episode "Code of Hero" is still regarded as one of the best episodes of any Transformers series.

Great series, I own the entire thing on DVD and it still holds up to this day. There were a lot of memorable and likeable characters, in my opinion. More so than most Transformers shows that have come down the pipe since.
It always annoyed me that Hasbro cut the budget on them last minute to sufficiently cut down S3 to half it's initially intended length & completely cut out their planned S4. It really puts into perspective how well S3 ended in spite of Hasbro's boneheaded decision. It could've been a lot worse.
Though it's an especially sour note when you realize they cut it short to replace it with Beast Machines...
Still, the short they managed to put out a while ago about the theft of the one Golden Disk on Cybertron with Megatron & co set pre-BW was pretty cool.

I remember always watching Beast Wars at my grandma's house on the weekend on Saturday mornings. I was too young to understand what was going on but I was very fascinated at the CGI. Keep in mind I was like 7 or 8 when I first saw Beast Wars. I know everyone talked about how Reboot did the CGI before it but I thought Beast Wars was a much more funner show.
Also Beast Machines, f*** Beast Machines.

Beast Wars was awesome. Code of Hero was quite possibly the best episode of anything I've ever saw.
Inferno was awesome.
Also f*** Beast Machines!!!!

It's the only Transformers series I ever truly got into. Loved it.
It was made by Mainframe Ent., the same people responsible for ReBoot. Amazing they could produce two shows like that in such close proximity and have neither suffer from lower quality.
And yes, Dinobot ruled all.

I'm surprised by so many people liking it.
Myself, I loved it. But it took a while. I only watched Transformers at the very end of it's run, and when this came out...at first I thought it was stupid. It wasn't "technically" part of the Fox line up, it only served as the opening 30 minute show on weekdays, following the "judge" shows or Springer.
But once I got into it, I really really liked it. Since they were robots, they were allowed to get killed off, plus it always continued forward. I remember missing the episodes where Dino-Bot died, and another version was made for the Predacons, so I always assumed he defected, which pissed me off. My favorite Maximal was Depth Charge...who DIED SHORTLY AFTER HIS INTRODUCTION. Gah!
Beast Machines totally sucked though.

I absolutely loved this show as a kid, and I still love it today. Loved the toys, too.
Oh, and two of my favorite scenes in one video:
