It ended when Vince McMahon came out to the nWo theme saying it ws the last time we'd ever hear it. But then we'd hear it again as Hogan's theme in TNA . . . . Well its not like Vince said he was going to destroy every single copy of the theme making it impossible to be heard by anyone To be fair, Kevin Nash used it as his solo theme in 2011. Production truck must keep backups in a bullet proof safe.

Slight craw sticker. Hogan came out to voodoo child not chile. Though the songs are closely similar they are not tr same song. You're still not correct. Hogan came out to Voodoo Child (Slight Return). Voodoo Chile is a blues jam on Electric Ladyland that was initially titled Voodoo Child. There was a misprint on the first X amount of albums, etc, and now I believe it's officially known as Voodoo Chile on most releases. It's a dumb mistake turned even dumber by people not getting the facts straight... Unless they were lost in the move, my Hendrix vinyls should be somewhere. I do, indeed, have a copy of Electric Ladyland with the Voodoo Chile misprint. Yeah I know this wasn't sure if (slight return) was actually part of the name. Sorry bout that still sticks in my craw

Not with a bang, but a whimper.
EDIT: Dammit! I wasn't even the first Citizen to do it either.

I always think that when WWE purchased WCW, they should've said that the nWo did a great job, bringing the rumors about WWE sending them there into kayfabe and making them "legit." That way, the most iconic faction in wrestling history would've gone out with a big bang.

Thinking about it, the WWE nWo was the most logical version of the group as their stated goal was to "kill" WWE because Ric Flair was co-owner and, when Vince finally gets rid of Ric Flair as a person of power in WWE, he then announces the end of the faction.
The only monkey wrench is during Ric's feud with Austin, when he decided to align himself with the group and them accepting.
