I was watching some ECW debuts earlier, Punk, Thorn etc, and I ended up on The Alpha Male's debut, and I'd forgotten how sick he was. Seriously, if ever there was a talent who could've been big, but had to leave due to extraneous circumstances, it was him. Awesome charisma about him, decent on the stick, and pretty damn amazing in the ring. Lest we forget The POOOOOOOOOOUNCE-UH! Plus, his awesome theme music. Just call him smooth! Anyway, appreciate away!

I hear good things about this guy but he was around for the long stretch when I wasn't watching. Any matches/promos to recommend?

It's not WWE, but his promo at TNA Genesis when the building caught fire is awesome. Dude goes out into the parking lot, and cuts a pretty great promo on the spot. Was awesome. Match wise, he had quite a few good ones in TNA, such as against Jeff Hardy, didn't really have many singles matches in WWE. I recommend a few of the Originals Vs New Breed matches, like One Night Stand 07.

It's a shame that things shook the way that they did, because he could have been a pretty big deal.

What a show. As bad as it all turned out, I loved watching WWECW for Brown, Punk, and Burke. I always had a soft spot for the ECW originals but those three guys were my favorite part.
Back to appreciating Monty Brown, I have spent a lot of time watching his TNA work. The Pounce looked downright brutal on some of those guys. Why did he leave WWE? I thought it was said that he left on his terms and wasn't released.

I completely agree with you and to be honest Lashley would have been perfect in the New Breed as well. He can play whiny, egotist who thinks they're better than they are way better than he can play badass. Could you imagine Cor Von pouncing at Umaga through the cage? That would be a spot that would be included in video packages till this day. EDIT: WWECW was the best wrestling show on TV week to week in those days...I miss it dearly, I would welcome a show with booking like it back.

Always been a mark for the guy and had a lot of hope when he joined WWE. My hopes were soon crushed.

Ah, yes that was it, thanks guys. As bad of a situation to lose a family member and then halt your career to take care of their children speaks volumes for the guy. It's great that he did that but the selfish part of me wishes he had stayed.

Any man that uses new jack swing as a theme is my personal hero that and I keep yelling pounce when Big E does it. Very intense and highly motivated

If he stuck around long enough I think he would have gotten a big push post-ECW. There's just not a lot of guys in wrestling that have that kind of charisma anymore.

Yeah, I could see him getting put on Smackdown and being a dominant WHC. Or again, getting the Lashely push and eventually ending up WWE champ.

The Pounce was a great finishing move. Big E should use it.

I didn't see much of him in WWE as it was part of my time off from the company but I loved the guy in TNA. There was one match at a PPV (can't remember which one) where he should really have beaten Jarrett for the title because he was red hot at that point but for some reason he lost and turned heel not long after, it was kind of a let down. But he was super fun to watch there. I presume he was similarly entertaining in WWE. Really sad to hear about his sister, damn shame to have something like that happen to you, he sounds like a great guy.

Slightly off-topic, but Sabu deserves some props for that gif up there. That's quite a bump.
