So, I've always followed the developmental system, and I wanted to know where Erick Rowan came from.
Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper were relatively well known before their current incarnations, with Duke Rotundo/Husky Harris being trained through the WWE developmental system (potentially the best one since Dolph Ziggler). And of course, the mack truck himself, Brodie Lee, who definitely didn't need to buy a new ring attire upon coming to WWE. I've always liked Brodie and he's most famous for his run in Chikara, but also had a brief stint in ROH as part of the Age of the Fall. I think Luke Harper and Antonio Cesaro had Chikara's first ever cage match if I remember correctly.
So we have two guys apart of this great gimmick. But then Erick Rowan gets put in there. He was one of those odd body types that came in, guys like the Melting Man, Weird Body man, Man with no belly button, etc. He seemed to have this Scandinavian gimmick in FCW before being brought in with the Wyatt Family. Apparently he did do some indies and even worked in Pro Wrestling NOAH before it all went to shit. So yeah, did anyone know about the guy before coming to WWE? Maybe any guys who watched some local indies.

Reverse Sheamus. I'm glad one of those bastards made it to the main roster.

A few months back I didn't follow NXT/developmental all that regularly. All I knew was that Vader's son was in it. When I saw Erick Rowan at WrestleMania Axxess this year, I assumed he was Vader's son. Big, intimidating, monstrous looking guy with red hair, seems like an obvious choice. I was shocked to discover that everybodies favorite Miz lookalike, Jake Carter, was actually Vader's kid and Rowan is completely unrelated.
