On Sunday, my family and I are attending our first indy show that actually has some big names booked...Kevin Steen, Colt Cabana, Johnny Gargano, AR Fox and Eddie Edwards. If at all possible, my son and I would like to try and meet all the guys and get autographs and pics. I just have no idea how things like this work at a show like this. We went to ROH last year and the autograph signing was very structured, with just 3 people signing for a set amount of time. What can I expect at a smaller show like this one? And can I expect to spend a small fortune to get autographs and pics?
Thanks in advance!

Most, if not all, indy shows, do some sort of autograph show for the wrester to make extra money. If a wrestler can sell a bunch of pictures at $10 it helps off set coming to the show if he gets paid very little.
Some guys may have not only pictures but t-shirts or other memorabilia to sell. I think the price normally runs $10-15 with $15 probably being the norm. It's not too expensive but not so cheap that they can't make the most money. Some of the larger indy shows that do legends signings at the show seem structured with tickets in force but the smaller ones allow for you to just go to the wrestlers table.
There's a great site called markedout.com where fans post reports of meeting wrestlers. You can use their search feature to search previous posts. I believe several people have meet Colt Cabana.

Try to get there at least an hour before the show starts. Don't let anybody you aren't that interested in guilt you or con you into giving them money (basically, if Virgil is there, do not make eye contact). Colt Cabana is an absolutely great guy on every level, so make him the priority to meet to ensure a great memory (and a good time). Kevin Steen, from all accounts I've heard, is a great guy too.
Basically, if you buy something from the guys you like, such as an 8 X 10 photo, they'll usually throw in signing it and taking a picture with you for free. I'd be weary of the guys trying to charge you extra for adding a signature to one of their photos or to take a picture with you.

I'd say with big name indy guys you're generally going to be okay and they're going to be appreciative you want to meet them.
The ex WWE guys are who you have to look out for. Those are the real carnies of indy wrestling.

Some guys may come out during intermission. But you'll notice at the end of the show there will be a bunch of fans hanging out during the time they tear the ring down. That's the time when most people come out and have a chat with the fans. But be warned, if there are guys that don't want to come out, they wont.

Basically just head over to the merch table before the show gets going or at intermission. Most of the guys will be out there trying to sell their stuff and interacting with fans and all those guys are great guys to interact with.

Colt will only usually take a picture if you buy merch off him. Some people are good with pics, others will charge a small fee - my favourite story was when Cheerleader Melissa charged one time (believe it was $10), I didn't have any small notes, and she had change for $100. What a saint. Though at that same show, Madison Rayne, who was on TV at the time, took a pic with me for free.

Cabana and Steen are remarkably approachable at shows, especially with kids. Cabana will chat, but you'll have to buy something to get a pic...usually. Steen is hit and miss with that from what I've seen. Sometimes you don't have to buy something, sometimes you do but neither are ever a dick about it. The rest I can't speak for, but it's normally pretty close to 50-50 if they're a "bigger" name if you have to buy something.
Most of the time, guys will be out at merch tables as much as they can; before the show, intermission, and after if possible. Most smaller shows (not ROH, CZW, CHIKARA) are going to be somewhat of a free-for-all in the sense of you just walk up and do your thing. It's a blessing and a curse.

Wow 10 bucks for Cheerleader Melissa is really really steep for someone who is basically just an indy chick who had a small run in TNA for a little bit. You can get a lot of legitimate actors who have had secondary supporting roles in big films for around the same.

Colt Cabana will come with a wide array of merch to set up throughout the show. T-shirts, pictures, posters, buttons, you name it. At some point (maybe several times) he'll be at the table to sign, take pics. He's a really great guy and appreciates his fans.
Have not met any of the others, so can't say how they'll handle things. But it will probably be similar.

I've met Colt before and he is super approachable and a great guy to meet,I bought a shirt of his but I was regardless and he took a pic with me,The rest of them Idk how they are towards fans I can say Eddie Edwards tag team partner Davery Richards despite some stuff he has been accused of doing at shows is a really cool dude to meet and payed about 5 or 10 for a photo with him and he ended up letting me take a photo at the time with ROH belt on my arm plus signed a couple dvds of mine.
