Inspired by the thread that a poster made about meeting some workers this weekend I thought I'd make this thread where we can all share our best and worst interaction with a wrestler and the stories behind them. It can be in their time or at a signing or at an indy show. Whatever you can think of.
For me:
Nicest: Surprisingly Chris Masters. He came to town with an indy promotion for their big 10 year anniversary show and beat a local guy in about 10 minutes. After the match during the intermission he did photo's and I paid for one. It was pretty fast but he seemed genuine asking my name, introducing himself and asking how far I travelled for the event. We took the photo he thanked me for coming out and said it was nice meeting me. Short and sweet.
Worst: Raven. I've told the story in depth here a couple of times but basically when I was 15 or 16 I was a Raven fan and travelled about 4 hours to see Raven wrestle live for an indy show. I paid 15 dollars for a meet and greet pass which assured me unlimited autographs and a photo with Raven. The local promoter always charged for this and the "name" guys would sign anything you had for no cost but would shill merchandise.
That day I get there I have 3 items from home for Raven. I get in there he tells me to get my 3 signed I need to buy 2 photos (He told me 1 photo gets 2 autographs on your own item) so I have to buy 2 photos which I believe were 15 dollars each and to be fair were print outs from someones home printer.
Personality wise he was all business and to be honest came off as really arrogant and rude to me and almost everyone else that was there (Unless you were a hot chick)
He also tried to get another 25-30 bucks out of me by trying to make me buy a T-Shirt which looking back on I don't really appreciate.
What about you guys?

Nicest/best was Goldberg, and I remember HBK also being cool when I was a kid.
Never had a bad experience personally, but I remember Test and Albert being huge pricks to people. I just chalk it up to them having a bad day.

Best: Edge. He was very nice and answered all the fans questions. He even had the event promoters re-open the line so more people could get a chance to meet him.
Wrost: nothing so far.

The best was Steve Corino and Jack Victory. The line to see them was rather small, so we chatted for about 15 minutes. Before the signing I had bought a PWI with a photo of them in it, and Victory flipped through it while we were talking to them. I remember him commenting on how hot he thought Stephanie McMahon was. Corino was ECW champ at the time, and he let us hold the belt. I never knew how heavy those things were! All in all it was a great experience and made me appreciate them more afterwards.
I can't really think of a bad one. As SOR said, Raven was all business, but he wasn't mean or anything. Just hi, sign, leave.
As an aside, my favorite one USED to be Chris Benoit. We waited 2 hours in line at a theme park to meet him, and he was awesome. So cordial. Security tried to get us to hurry, but as soon as my friend mentioned how much he liked his Japanese stuff, Benoit talked to us for a bit, and talked security into letting us get a picture with him. I don't want to derail the thread, but this one interaction greatly affects my view on what really happened with him and the events with his family.

Got two good ones.
First ECW show I went to, New Jack was behind the counter with the t shirts. I asked him for an autograph and he signed it and gave it to me for free. Later in the night Brian Lee grabbed it from me and choked a bloody Tommy Dreamer out with it. Still have that shirt.
At a TNA show a year or so ago Al Snopw grabbed a seat next to me and my friend and just started talking wrestling with us for a good half hour.

Met Jeff Hardy once in a Cracker Barrel(where else?) talked to him for a few minutes before he ordered and he was cool as anything, he left before I did and on his way out he came over and shook my hand and said 'take it easy'. Very cool guy.

But you then also became a contributing factor in ECW eventually going bankrupt. I hope you're proud of yourself. |

I've been pretty lucky in that I can't remember having a bad experience meeting a wrestler. Some were quiet and just stuck to signing, but that's understandable. I'll share some of my favorite stories. For my 12th birthday, my parents got me tickets to SummerSlam '95 and a room at the nearby hotel. The day before the show, my dad and I were just walking around the lobby, checking the place out. We walked back toward the elevators when who should we see but ... Shawn Michaels! I don't really recall what sparked the conversation; I think my dad just said "excuse me, are you Shawn Michaels?" I do remember being pretty scared because even though I knew wrestling was a show, this was my first time actually meeting a wrestler; it was certainly the closest I'd ever been to one! Shawn was really nice, though--he wished me a happy birthday and gave me an autograph. Meeting Jimmy Hart at Axxess this year was a pleasant surprise. I scored a VIP ticket which included a walk backstage. No sooner had I gone through the curtain when there was the Mouth of the South, offering to have his picture taken with me. Very cool. Tyson Kidd seemed genuinely happy to meet people; he smiled at me and shook my hand. Layla let me get my picture taken with her. EDIT: Shit, how could I forget this one?! I met Kurt Angle at a Media Play store when his book came out. Despite the posted signs saying he would only autograph copies of his book, he signed anything the fans gave him: jackets, milk containers, championship belt replicas, you name it. When it was my turn, he shook my hand and told me he liked my shirt. (The shirt was from the '96 Olympic Games.) |

Eddie Kingston was very friendly when I met him on the street after an Alpha-1 show. I also spoke with Jimmy Jacobs on my way out, but he didn't really reciprocate when I congratulated him on a good match (He seemed eager to go, not really in the mood for socializing).

Went to a few Wrestling is Art shows and I must say everyone was extremely nice. Talked to Jigsaw, Sugar Dunkerton, Jervis Cottenbelly and each one was willing to chat for a bit. Before one of the shows I bought a Gentlemania Kit (top hat and fake mustache) from Jervis for $5 but all I had was 10 dollar. We agreed that I could pay the ten and come back during intermission for change. During intermission I found him and he was very happy he did not have to search for me. We even tipped hats to each other during his entrance later in the show.
Never had a back experience at a wrestling event. But at a MLB game a bunch of kids and I were asking one of the pitchers to throw us up a ball. Its one thing to ignore us and continue to practice. But he flipped us the bird! A BUNCH OF KIDS!

Hernandez was very cool when a buddy and I approached him after his match. He was talking to a lady beforehand at the bar and we waited til he was done. And he said something like, "man I saw you guys staring at me for a while, I thought you guys were gonna jump me" Haha. Very nice guy even if I didn't talk to him for long
On the same show, we met Low-Ki. He looked uninterested in the whole thing, but he was still polite and answered whatever few questions we had. Guy also hadthe hand grip of a vise.
Don't really have any others, but those are two that stand out.

Always had great experiences with everyone I've met thus far. Christopher Daniels was probably the nicest and funniest of the bunch. The first time he came to Quebec City, he had an autograph session prior to the show and he complimented me on my good English and everything, which I thought was pretty cool back then. Very funny after the show, singing and cracking jokes about Curry Man, etc. Also met Rick Martel a few weeks ago for a special show and I had my picture taken with him holding the AWA World Heavyweight Championship. The absolute highlight of my life thus far.
The only bad experience for me was Raven. Not that he was rude to me personally since I got my signed picture of him but he clearly was all business and threatened to no-show the event at one point because "he wasn't feeling very well". I remember him arriving at the event with a chick that nobody knew who the f*** she were, not even the promoter. Heard later it was a chick he met at the airport in Toronto and had her booked as his valet for the night.

Best experience was having a long conversation with Paul London about Bat Nipples and Tremors.
Worst experience... not bad, but not fun was with Raven. He didn't care to small talk or answer any questions even though he was sitting at his table all alone with no fans anywhere in sight. Was more into his water bottle once he learned that I didn't want to buy anything and just wanted to thank him for entertaining me over the years.
