Just watching it here, what are everyone's opinions on this event? I loled at Terry Funk on a horse. Leatherface running around the crowd with a jainsaw also. A chainsaw to me is like bringing a gun or a knife into wrestling, why doesnt he just cut someones arm off if he's that violent and insane! But luckily Im just watching this as a nice fun retro backdrop while I listen to psychdelic rock and not for logic! Also Foley is god: Im sure I'll post more in this thread as I see things that amuse me. Leatherface actually looks suspiciously like 99 era Foley with the white shirt and tie and stuff.

Dan Severn attempting to throw about 90 chairs in the ring and failing to get them in the ring is quite epic.

Leatherface's mask is amazing. If I've seen it before I had forgotten it. I didnt know he was also Corporal Kirschner, fair play to him. While looking for pictures I also came across Leatherface II whose mask is even more hilarious. I: II: Terry Gordy's powerbomb on Cactus were sick, especially onto the thumbtacks.

One of the few Deathmatch shows that I actually enjoy watching. I wish that Sabu could have been switched for Tiger Jeet Singh though. That dude sucks.

The "Cactus Jack" side of the tournament was great (Jack/Gordy, Nakamaki/Ono, Jack/Nakamaki).
The "Terry Funk" side of the tournament were pretty bad (Funk/Leatherface, Singh/Gannosuke, Funk/Singh).
The final match was epic.
Severn/Goto was way more fun than expected.
Headhunters/Silver King & El Texano was also better than I expected it to be. I don't think I had seen a full Headhunters match until this.
Forget the rest.

What is the best version of it on DVD that has been released? Big Vision released a version a few years ago, but all the ring music is replaced with super-generic hardcore songs.

Classic event for sure. I've got it if anyone's looking for it.
Also got a 7 disc Best of IWA Japan compilation with some really good stuff on it, like the debut of the second Leatherface. What made that great is it felt real. They'd make one move and the crowd would scatter in a split second. You'd never see something like that happen in the US, at least not today.
