I was just watching an episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit. Where Penn says that you are only a junior if you are the first born son and share the same first and middle name as your father.
I always thought that you are a junior if you share just the first name as your father. I had no idea you also had to be first born and have the same middle name.
What's your opinion on this?

They're just splitting hairs. If you're a son and have the same name as you're dad, you're a junior.

They should take the WWE route whereby the father becomes a 'Classic.'

I've never heard that and don't see why a middle or youngest son can't be called Jr. if they have the same first name as their dad.

Personally I don't like Jr's, but I would/will name my son after my dad. Middle name will be his dad's.

Then what causes some people to have II in their name? I've heard of III and beyond, but what about II?

They're just splitting hairs. If you're a son and have the same name as you're dad, you're a junior. i agree, but how about this: what if the dad names all of his sons after him? i worked with a guy who was John Doe III (his name isn't really "John Doe", change names protect innocent blah blah blah), and his father John Doe II name his second son John Doe IV. are they both Jr, or is it just the older son, or just the younger son? side note: it has to suck when your younger brother has the same job as you and advances a lot fast than you do. i worked with John Doe III while in the military (Navy), and when i met him when he was an E-3. his younger brother, who was in the same rate (job occupation) and joined after he did, was already an E-4. by the time he made E-4, his brother was an E-5. he just picked up E-5 and his brother was already an E-6. by the time he's able to try to advance to E-6, his brother will be going up for Chief.

About George Foreman Foreman has 12 children. His five sons are George Jr., George III, George IV, George V , and George VI. He also has a daughter named Georgetta

Simple. Call the one chief.

I want to see a family where the dad is named Junior Doe and then name his son Junior Doe Jr. Could even go the "Friends" route and name him Junior Doe Jr. Jr.

What if Junior Seau named his son Junior? Junior Jr. Yep.
On a side note, that's like the fourth or fifth time I've used "yep" today. I have no idea why.... Yep.
