I saw this clip on another board I don't know it's origins but I think it brings up an interesting topic to debate.
How do you feel about wrestlers who were famous 15-20 years ago trying to hock merchandise etc? Necro is against it (Clearly) but what do the fans think?

Wow, Necro looks like twenty years older than the last time I saw him from the thumbnail alone.

One more reason why I just love Necro.

I thought Necro hated Rip Rogers or something.

Wow, Necro looks like twenty years older than the last time I saw him from the thumbnail alone. Immediately what I thought too. Jeez, it's like he went from not aging to suddenly a decade's worth of it catching up to him. I feel bad for Necro, he's kind of fallen off the map in terms of bigger promotions using him. You don't hear his name too often anymore, despite him still being able to go from what little I've seen of his recent work. Always thought he was underrated in terms of his ring psychology and felt he deserved better than he got. Especially in ROH where Adam Pearce took him from one of the hottest acts they had by the time Gabe was kicked out to killing him dead with that Embassy mess.

Super weird hearing Rob Feinstein at the end discussing what is and isn't appropriate to say to children, but I digress...
I think Necro himself is uncomfortable selling his own merchandise, which I wouldn't fault him for as it's a personal preference, but while I myself will be the first person to tell you that the charging-for-autographs market is absolute bullshit and shouldn't exist, I don't see what's wrong with wrestlers, even the stars of yesteryear, selling merchandise.
I agree with Necro's approach of first and foremost making the theatrical act of enjoying the spectacle of wrestling the most important thing. That should be the main thing. But is the idea of a souvenir itself inherently exploitive? Not to mention, with how challenging and dubious it can be to find a certain performer's body of work or merchandise, why not get it from the trustworthy position of the person you want to support themselves?
Yeah, guys who bully fans into signing autographs are subhuman scum (Virgil) but for a lot of towns that these guys go to, for fans of all ages this might be one of the absolute highlights of their year. Why not let them have a memento outside of the memory so that when that outside world becomes a little too tough to bear, they can throw on that t-shirt and pop in that DVD and be comforted by a great memory or interaction that will always make them happy?
