Craziest Thing a Classmate Told You About Wrestling?

Two off the top of my head -

The "class liar" told me that he met Stone Cold at a McDonald's before a Raw. Austin took him back to the arena and he got a free training with him, Undertaker and Rock. This was in like early 1998. This kid also claimed to have caught real life Pokemon in Japan, but he couldn't bring them back to the USA.

Also, another story was when a kid in my class told me all wrestlers have to be good at math because they solve problems in order to do moves. For example, he said Rock would say "what's two plus two" and his opponent has to answer in order to complete the move sequence.

This is the most ridiculously nonsensical thing a 7 year old kid might say, so therefore it is the absolute best answer for this thread.

A friend of mine whos like 26 recently told me the WWE is on their third undertaker. I'd expect this from a ten year old not from a grown man

My friend claimed he went to a WWE House Show in 2002 and that Vince McMahon chased him around backstage because he somehow got backstage. Apparently Vince McMahon just threw him outside and told him not to come back, that was it.

Another friend who was a known liar told me that his brother had met Nathan Jones in 2008 and received an autograph on a photo. Nathan Jones had been living in Thailand for years at this point and was working in the movies.

Another funny story from a much older guy. I was about 16 or 17 he was a year younger. I was telling friends how blading worked in wrestling and he said to me and I quote "That's a bunch of bull shit. What they do is go under the ring and there's a barrel of pigs blood. They dip their head in that and come out. That's how they make blood" I always thought that one was amusing.

One of my friends in elementary school claimed he was at ringside at Wrestlemania III and heard Hulk Hogan tell Andre "Brother, I'll give you a million dollars if you let me bodyslam you".

The same kid claimed he saw wrestlers pulling McDonald's ketchup packets out of their tights to use as blood.

Another friend said he saw Arn Anderson at Six Flags, and he was holding hands with another guy and wearing a hot pink fannypack.

And more recently my cousin-in-law claimed he saw Kane at Home Depot a few years ago, and was wearing his mask while shopping. Granted, this dude was like 25 when he told me this crap... The same guy believes there were 2 Undertakers and the original Ultimate Warrior died of a "steroids overdose".

When growing up we had a neighbour who's adult son watched wrestling in the early nineties. When I got into it in the late nineties they would tell me all sorts of crap and then make me look like the idiot even though I was the correct one. One of these 'facts' was that by about '99 WWF were onto their third Undertaker. Their proof? He had more tattoos than when he started. Another one they whipped out frequently was that Rikishi was Yokozuna and even when presented which such proof as pictures and tapes of Yokozuna and The Headshrinkers on the same bill I was still the one in the wrong haha. One of those cases where the adult is always right I suppose, even when they're wrong.

I don't remember any crazy classmate stories beyond friends getting far into wrestlers gimmicks. Stuff such as Kane had magical powers and presenting the proof as being he could turn lights on and make fire appear before laughing off anyone who said that it could just be a dimmer switch and fireworks. I suppose in a way, that is the best time to watch wrestling, you're not a jaded adult and everything seems awe-inspiring. You're not worried if one wrestler knows sixteen different variations of an armbar, you just want to root for who you think is the coolest and won't be swayed by what you have read on the internet. Heel and Face turns mean something and you can get emotionally involved in the stories to the point of losing all logic and I don't know about you, but if I could have kept that I would.

In high school, I had a classmate who was convinced that everything in wrestling is fake except the Royal Rumble, which he claimed was the only time the wrestlers actually get to fight for real and see who is really the best. Around the same time, I recall this guy who sat next to me at a Superstars taping who swore he knew all kinds of inside info and that one of his sources told him that Tatanka was going to win the '93 Rumble.

During my college years, I knew a guy who thought the Warrior who showed up in WCW was an imposter, and another guy who thought wrestling was completely real up until the Rock 'n' Wrestling era, and that Andre the Giant was "the last real wrestler." There was also a guy who claimed to be Jerry Flynn's cousin, but I kind of believe him because who would lie about that?

And then after I started teaching, I had a student who claimed that he was personal friends with Shawn Michaels and regularly went deer hunting with him, Triple H, and Steve Austin, and that as soon as he graduated, HBK was going to get him started in the wrestling business.

I had someone tell me that during the Undertaker vs. Undertaker that the grey Undertaker was the original one and the Purple guy was the "new" undertaker and they needed him to get rid of the grey one.

In 97 someone told me that Kane was the Grey Undertaker from 94 wanting revenge.

That in No Mercy for N64 that after you do 100 years on career mode you get the Ultimate Warrior.

Hogan was going to return to the WWE at WM 15 to screw Austin.

Vince McMahon was going to fight Eric Bischoff in 98 but his "missed his flight".

Shawn Michaels was faking his back injury to jump to WCW. Yeah every PPV in 98 post man this guy keep telling me HBK was going to show up at the WCW PPV. I just told him like you told me last month.

Goldberg was Austin's brother. The Sandman was Austin's cousin.

Andre the Giant was really the Big Show's dad. This was during the whole Bossman feud and he claimed Andre just died. I was like you do realize Andre been dead since 93.

10 year old in the mid 90s told me if you lose a casket match, the WWF is allowed to actually kill you.

Can sort of see his logic considering by that point how many guys who lost casket matches were never seen again.

A kid told me when I was in 4th or 5th grade that Bret Hart used to be called Dynamite Kid and was actually from England, and just used a fake accent in interviews now. This would've been around 1993 or so, and I had just gotten into wrestling and didn't know who Dynamite Kid was, so I didn't ask who the Bret Hart guy was that the Dynamite Kid had wrestled just a few years prior.

At an indy show in town 3 years ago, Had a guy that had to be in his early 50s tell me "You know it has all been fake since Mid South folded."

I heard all the time that ECW was real, and since there was no real way to view it around here, the violence was greatly exaggerated and became the stuff of legend.

One thing I remember hearing someone say was that the Road Warriors wore their spiked shoulder pads during their matches in ECW and used them to impale people.
