Let's go...
Film/TV opinions you have that go against the grain.
-Lindsay Lohan, contrary to what everyone says, isn't really that great an actress. She was fine, and even good at points, but the idea she was going to be the next Julia Roberts is just something pushed by writers to get over their "The tragic fall of Lindsay" articles. If she'd never touched a drug, I think she'd be B list at best. I never felt she had a huge amount of range.
-It's gotten worse the last few seasons, but Dexter was never that great to begin with.
-True Blood is basically Twilight for people with degrees
-Speed 2 is OK.
-Mads Mikkelsen is a better Hannibal Lecter than Anthony Hopkins. I think he's way more realistic and not as over-the-top, which works. Since I don't think an actual genius psychopath would be as campy as Lector is in the movies.

...i'm confused, is this a legit thread or a parody thread? because you've got Hannibal Lecter and Dexter, which can be viewed as legitimate "unpopular opinions", but then you've got "Lindsay Lohan, contrary to what everyone says, isn't really that great an actress". no one says she's that great an actress

Game of Thrones looks like the Hercules TV show and American Gothic's aborted baby.

Tyler Perry movies are decent.
Scrubs Season 9 is pretty damn good if you look at it as a spin-off rather than a continuation of the original show. Season 8 was the REAL finale, and Season 9 is a completely different show with a new setting, a revamped theme song, and just happens to have the same name.

CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS/OPINIONS, COMIN' THROUGH!
- Without hyperbole, Doctor Who is one of the worst shows I've ever sat through in my life. As hard as I've tried to enjoy this show, I can't see the good in it.
- While I thought it was a great movie, I didn't find The Conjuring scary in the least.
- Thor sucked.
- Captain America: The First Avenger sucked.
- Man of Steel was one of the worst movies I've seen in quite some time.
- 30 Rock is awful and horribly unfunny.
- Ditto for Community.
- Bates Motel is an abortion.
- American Horror Story is embarrassingly bad (I watch it anyway).
- Walking Dead is boring and extremely overrated. I cringe at the horrible 'Southern accents'.
- The only good Nolan Batman film was The Dark Knight, which was primarily due to Heath Ledger's performance.
- I enjoy comic books and all, but how about we take a break on comic movies for a while? Same goes for anything involving a zombie.
I guess that's enough for now.

American Horror Story is really awful. Every season it's like they throw in everything they can think of (Aliens! Zombies! The Anti-Christ! Nazis!) and don't come close to wrapping up things by the end.
Seriously, they spent a large part of season 2 building up the storyline with the zombies, made you think it was going somewhere, and then the Nazi doctor just casually shot them all in a throwaway scene. Astounding.

I still think The Simpsons is one of the funniest shows on tv and I enjoy the newer seasons as much as the old.
The Dark Knight Rises is the only one of Nolan's Batman films that I enjoyed.
I enjoy Michael Cera and his films.

- Avatar was a terrible movie - Heath Ledger was ok but he wasn't a great actor - Most of the Pixars movies aren't good - Darth Maul wasn't interesting and it was no big loss that he got killed off in Episode I - Relatively speaking, there were no strong characters on Star Trek: Voyager - Even though I can actually appreciate the humor to an extent, I never feel like watching Portlandia - Scrubs jumped the shark after 2 seasons - The Simpsons is still the funniest show on TV - The Office (U.S.) was still funnier than most shows all the way to the end of the series - The Napoleon Dynamite cartoon was better than Family Guy, American Dad, Bob's Burgers, et al. and it sucks that it got cancelled - Christian Bale is a boring actor - The James Bond movies are ok, but that's it - Return To Oz was a great film - I like the original Star Trek series a lot, but later seasons of Star Trek: TNG and Deep Space Nine made a good thing better. DS9 and later seasons of TNG were both so good that I'd be splitting hairs if I said one was better than the other - Hopefully this doesn't violate the no politics rule, but watching the news on cable TV is pretty much worthless as a source of information. That may not even be an unpopular one anymore, but I don't know if it can be said enough.

District 9 sucked. Out and out sucked. Never before have I seen a more unlikeable lead character than the one that is presented in that suck-fest. How that movie became critically acclaimed I'll never understand.

- True Blood is a shitty show and it really isn't that much better than Twilight either. - While I do enjoy watching Sons of Anarchy I still find it to be extremely overrated. - While nowhere as a bad as the second one, the first Mortal Kombat film is still rubbish (though great soundtrack)

Many American tv shows have too much filler and drag on too long. Even great TV shows that I love suffer from this problem. Take Buffy for example, one of my favourite ever TV shows but I can't deny the fact that in every series, there are a good 6 or 7 episodes that contribute nothing/little to the overall series plot and could be cut.
Same goes for Battlestar Galactic and of course Lost. Both of which had episodes which were nothing more than filler that wasn't needed and could have been cut. Especially Lost, with all the pointless flashbacks which just dragged the show down and seemed to exist solely to pad the show out to meet the required episode number target.

Mad Men is a shallow show filled with nothing but stock characters outside of Draper where nothing interesting happens and when something interesting is about to happen or finally adding a depth to the character, its never resolved nor continued next episode. It's a show where the only purpose of it is to shame the past and look fancy dresses! (Based on only watching season 1 and the opening episode of season 2)
Drive is one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen. It's simply a hipster trying to create his own version of a action film filled with ironic scorpion stunt man jackets, soundtrack, failed attempts of homages to older crime and noir films to trick critics, and oooooooh ironic usage of over the top gore to show we are badass and shit. The movie has a pretty good ensemble of actors and none were utilized. I felt sorry for Bryan Cranston who seemed like he was trying his hardest to add a character with depth and life to this lifeless film with good cinematography. Pretty visuals does not make a good film!
