The first time I went to an ECW Show the "E" stood for Eastern not Extreme! One of my Dad's friends from work told him about the show cause he knew I was a wrestling fan and since we lived about two miles from the arena we made it a monthly out for the next 8 years! Here's the program from my very first show scanned to show you the best ClipArt the Early 90s could buy! ^ King Kong Bundy was Funk's Mystery Partner incase you were wondering! You can find the rest of the Program at my Blog at the link below: shitmoviefest.blogspot.com/2012/01/ecw-arena-preparing-myself-to-say.html

That's awesome and a great piece that people would probably pay a lot of money for.
Funny thing is I imagine you only recognized a few names on the card but 20 years later most of them are legends.

So very true, save for Sherry, Hawk, Mr. Hughes, and Bundy I had no clue who any of those people were lol

If you don't mind me asking, how old were you when he took you and was there ever a point where your dad was uncomfortable for the next 8 years seeing what often mature content ECW offered with his son?

I was born in 82, so I was 11 at the time of this show. He always just said "Don't tell your Mom what happened!" if things got way out of hand lol
By the time I got to high school I would usually sit in different sections from him and his co-worker, I'd be with kids from school that I knew, one friend's Uncle ran the Food stand in the arena so I mostly got to see above in that balcony area.
When ECW went under he stopped going to the Area, I would go to CZW and XPW for a bit but I stopped going every month aswell.
Funny enough we went to the WWECW show when RVD lost his title to Big Show at the F.U. Center and recently went to last month's "Money In The Bank"!

Dirty Doug Devereaux? NOTHING comes up when you Google that name. I take it this was a gimmick that never actually materialized?

Johnny Gunn vs Mr. Hughes?!
There isn't a Fry meme accurate enough to convey my excitement.

Well I'll be damned, WWE didn't invent the Chair Match for the TLC PPV.

Nothing says extreme like coloring book pumpkins! It's the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, outside the lines coloring Sabu. There was this one time where he botched and broke his crayon in two pieces. He then used scotch tape to hold it together and finished the coloring!!

Old ECW programs are on Ebay right now for about $1 each with no bids. I think the coolness factor is the fact he was actually at the show

I'd love to find a stash of old ECW videos. I've found a few on youtube, including an older promo for the Sandman when he was just a bleached-blonde pretty boy.
