The only way an off season would work is if they were off from doing house shows. If I'm going to a house show (not that they ever really come to Denver...though we are starting to get back our whopping once a year visit from WWE) I don't care if half the roster is there because honestly, half the roster usually isn't there anyway and because if they mix up the talent there should be enough for a solid show regardless.
But as a TV viewer I have no idea or don't care at all if they miss house shows, as long as they are on Raw and Smackdown. So give guys 4 months (or even 6...but I'm guessing 4 is pushing it) off a year or something from doing house shows so in those four months they are only two days a week. I think the house show sales will survive if they do it smartly and keep a balanced mix of stars on and off. Plus those guys' bodies will be better off as well.
