...the Women's division. Due to Chyna leaving, it kinda got screwed and it wasn't until Survivor Series that they realized the title was vacant. Was there anything else behind on why it too so long to realize that?
Heck, the Light Heavyweight Title played a more major role before it got merged with the Cruiserweight Title.
Anybody else a tad annoyed at this?

The last Women's Championship match before Survivor Series 2001 (and Chyna's last match) was at Judgement Day (in late May) and the fact that they continued to have Women's matches on TV and PPV during the title's hiatus makes me think that it was intentional and they wanted a reboot of the division/title.

If they knew Chyna was gonzo, you'd think they'd have had the courtesy to use the 30 day defense rule and declare the title vacant.
Even if by some miracle she hadn't left, considering she wasn't fighting men anymore- you wonder how they'd have used her.

Looking back I think they handled it as well as they could, and it eventually worked out for the best.
The title wasn't really needed for the overarching storyline of WCW vs WWF, seeing as WCW in actuality consisted solely of Torrie and Stacy. They did some of the silly side swapping with Ivory and Molly, but bringing the title back for them to feud with Lita/Trish would have just further underlined the point that the Alliance was mostly guys you'd been watching in WWF for a few years anyway.
Waiting until Survivor Series to bring the title back added to the idea of there being a new start in the company, and quietened down the question of why the title had been vacated.
If they'd signed Jazz sooner bringing the title back earlier might have been an idea, but I think it worked out ok in the end.

Well, it's not like WCW brought over a lot of good female wrestlers. Eye candy sure, but not wrestlers.
