After hearing Ted Jr left WWE I'd be all for him coming to TNA. He's only 30. And has the charisma and on-screen presence of a foam finger in the audience. So sign someone to be his manager. Problem solved.

Why not just sign someone with presence and "it" factor to begin with? Because Ted Jr has 5 years of the WWE Machine behind him and is a recognizable name that could slip right into TNA's Midcard or Upper Midcard? If you hire a random independent wrestling dude or whatever it could take years to successfully build them up.

Dibiase was never really anything more than decent, and the WWE machine didn't really do a good job in getting him over. He's not going to come into TNA with a bunch of buzz, he's not really more talented than the people they have, so I doubt it'd take them any less time to build him up than someone cheaper and younger.
He was the definition of WWE safe style, just bland looking wrestling a fairly homogeneous style without anything to set him apart. It probably wouldn't hurt, but TNA doesn't need him.

As usual, TNA is late to the party. A lot of the great talent is sitting in NXT right now.

After somebody says "I know that guy", why would they stick around to see him if he offers nothing else? An indy guy with charisma or a good moveset will be more valuable in the long run.

It only takes about a year or three to build up a dude with proper booking and if the guy has all the skills. WWE can be very good at from a debuting guy no one really knew about or even knew which wrestling promotions he wrestled for prior to a world champion a year and a half later or three. WWE was hell bent on the potential on Ted DiBiase and gave up on him because he just simply wasn't getting over. TNA in the early days was great at scouting talent and making them names and faces of the company from AJ Styles, Monty Brown, Christopher Daniels, Abyss, etc.

I'd rather hire a talented no-name person then a name mediocre performer.

That's a big issue. Heyman can't get Axel over and he's still one of the best managers around, who would TNA get to help Ted get over? Both Axel and Ted are just lacking in charisma in general (and Axel is a far better performer in my opinion) and that is something that can't really be helped with a manager.

They've signed Manik so far, so at least he'll be off the streets.

But on the flipside, right now TNA's needs are in low-priced talent and in potential, and DiBiase can't offer either of those things. You hire a random unknown wrestler, they may take years to build up- but they'll come at a far lower price than a recent WWE hire would (low enough to likely get 3-4 people for the price of one Ted Jr.], and you just never know with them. Maybe they flame out, maybe they end up the next Hogan/Rock/Austin, maybe they end up a solid midcarder for years- you never know, and whichever way it happens, they'll come in for less money.
By contrast, Ted Jr. will cost more money, clearly wants to spend more time at home [something that, since TNA no longer tours, they can't offer him any more], and you know what you'll get out of him: A solid midcard-to-upper midcard hand that just doesn't have IT to be a World Champion- no different from Anderson/Devon/Chavo. That's just the type of move that TNA should be getting away from.

I agree with him. I'm pointing out WWE can turn unknowns into stars. TNA can do the same if they really applied themselves. How? WWE gets about a 3.5 rating for RAW (If not higher) whilst Smackdown gets a 1.8 and you have Main Event that gets like a 0.8 that's 3 shows a week equaling about 6 hours of possible program time. WWE has 12 PPV's a year also so a big main event push for someone can be considerably quicker. TNA? TNA has 2 hours a week on Spike and a show that airs in international markets as a recap show. They have 4 PPV's a year and Impact rates between 1.0-1.3 most weeks. As TNA stands right now they can't make legitimate stars like the WWE does because quite frankly WWE is much much bigger. Now yes, TNA can make stars within their own company but not many people outside TNA fans and hardcore wrestling fans know these guys (Except maybe Hulk, Sting, Hardy, Angle, Anderson and Bully) who is a casual fan who is channel surfing more likely to stop for? Ted Jr or AJ Styles? Definitely Ted Jr but what is a casual fan going to stick around for? AJ. Win-Win. If I were in charge I'd sign Ted Jr to a 1 year deal. Give him a long run with the TNA Television Title with Garrett and Wes by his side (Doing a famous wrestling family gimmick) and see if he can do well. I'd want him on my House Show circuit though so if what a poster said about Ted wanting to cut back (I haven't watched Ted's video) then he wouldn't be someone I'd want but if he's willing to commit to the 6-8 dates a month TNA has I think he could be a great signing for them.

At this point, to a casual wrestling fan, AJ Styles probably is more well known than Jr., and he's more talented. Ted Dibiase Jr. hasn't had a feud on WWE TV since... man, late 2011/2012 probably and even before then the most notable he was was as a generic flunky for Orton during a down period. He's been on internet only shows since then and I'd have to imagine that more people watch Impact than Superstars. He was never a featured player, someone who would draw a crowd, so he's not going to be effective in bringing casual eyes to TNA. They had much more notable names that didn't move the ratings needle. I disagree with the notion that TNA isn't capable of making stars. WWF made stars before they got Smackdown and a 3-hour Raw, so it's certainly possible. And if you have a talented wrestler it's all the more possible, you just have to be willing to put effort into them.

I like Ted Dibiase but no f***ing way is he going to bring in enough viewers and revenue to justify a contract. Ted is taking a break from wrestling so there's no need to pursue him. Blame TNA for not making people who never were in the Bigs major stars. They have enough resources to do it. 2 hours is enough time to get over talent. Ask Viacom to air more TNA commercials on their networks. Put their wrestlers on show not on CMT. Ask SPIKE for another hour show and actually you it for something other than a recap show. TNA isn't some noob promotion. They been around for 10+ years. Can't keep depending on WWE's scraps because they don't want to put in the work to create stars.

No offense dude, but the WWE tried that with guys that are way better than Garrett and Wes and it didn't work, no way in hell it would work in TNA with those two goofs.
