So a couple of weeks ago somebody on these boards mentioned Jimmy Hart winning the Southern Heavyweight Title in Memphis back in 1981 as possibly a partial inspiration to David Arquette's WCW title reign. Never having heard of this before (was not a huge follower of Memphis wrestling back when I was one years old), I decided to look it up. Couldn't find the actually match, but did find this, which includes some footage of the match.I also found one of Jimmy Hart's title "defenses".

They just look so wrong like this, Bryan especially. He looks like an unfinished clone.

Abdullah the Butcher faced Gangrel...in WCW...in 1989...sort of: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI5Ry6JAqOIGangrel wrestling under his birth name, David Heath actually had a few TV appearances during the 1980s. He also jobbed to The Midnight Express and lost to The Big Boss Man in the WWF in just over a minute.

A young Hogan chain wrestling and locking in a freaking STF, Brother! Along with what is probably the highest-angle backdrop you could do without just dropping them on their head. Ouch.

Dino with the black hair, to boot, which places this post-WM7, when he was on his way out (and apparently so was Shane - surprised Shane was even around post-WM7).
