Really Dave? HHH is the Michael Jordan of the WWE? I'd go Scottie Pippen.

Really Dave? HHH is the Michael Jordan of the WWE? I'd go Scottie Pippen. For real, an MJ comparison makes no sense. Maybe the David Robinson or Tim Duncan? I just don't get him being MJ. MJ would be Hulk first, then maybe Austin, then after that perhaps Rock or even Andre--someone who catapulted the business to huge heights, was immensely decorated and a consistent champion. Triple H is a great wrestler (much better than people give him credit for, burial issues notwithstanding) and important to the history of North American pro wrestling, but come on, let's not go nuts here.

With the Taker comment...maybe we're finally close to a non-kayfabe DVD for the Dead Man...

Not very shocked, Taker has slowly and slowly became more Mark Callaway in a badass jacket then an immortal zombie over the last 3 or so years. The Triple H matches were boring but they did humanize him quite a bit but without getting rid of the aura of the Undertaker.

I got a good response on twitter when he announced this saying, "Oh thank god another DVD. We almost forgot you were the coolest, toughest and greatest wrestler ever"
Then again he married a chick and gets to own wrestling soon so who the f*** am I?

I'll be fair. Most DVDs are like that, including Punks.

I'm a fan of HHH and the combination of the music & some of the comments even made me roll my eyes.
Loved the guy during his prime, feel he's going to be great for the business behind the scenes. But I'm over the glorification of the guy. I might be a fan but I'm realistic, he's not Hogan or Austin or Rock or Savage. No matter how hard he wants to be.
Hell, I think one could argue he's not even HBK at this point after Shawn's second run.

Inside information, photos from when he was a kid...the whole magilla. Of all the top stars there have ever been, he's the one that needs a non-kayfabe release the most.

Really Dave? HHH is the Michael Jordan of the WWE? I'd go Scottie Pippen. He's Robert Horry. He won a bunch of championships and is known for being a good player, but he's certainly not a megastar like others and had help from a lot around him to get him to where he's at.

During the attitude era Trips was the Isaah Thomas of WWF. He was one of the greatest with many championships but greatly overshadowed by better, bigger stars. However, since then I'd move him to the Allen Iverson category. A great player in his own right who they tried to hype as the replacement to all the flashy players fading off and the more the hyped him the less people saw in him.
The hype is killing Trips legacy more than helping it at this point IMO.

Yes. Dissenting opinion be damned! Group-think NOW! To be fair almost EVERY WWE documentary set is kayfabe hyperbole hype unto its own. In this trailer we see Batista saying Triple H is the greatest of all time, which as an opinion is fair to say, but most people'd call bullshit on (for the record I don't mind Triple H). In Punk's DVD we see Michael Hayes saying Punk had changed the WWE structure from the inside and was the leader of the company, amongst all the "everyone hated Punk bar me!" stuff from Heyman, when clearly that wasn't the case at all given the opportunities he had. At this point in time WWE documentaries are 2/3 truth, 1/3 hype and presentation. "The new kayfabe" and all the rest of it.

Man Batista that's just mean, calling Triple H the Michael Jordan of pro wrestling. Triple H's time as COO has already been worlds more successful that Jordan's time in the front office with the Bobcats. Never compare a front office guy to Jordan.
