You know, the type of headlines designed to scare paranoid soccer moms into clicking right before they're inevitably shared on Facebook or forwarded in emails. I post this while still incredulous from stumbling upon the following from surprise, the Daily Mail:
IS YOUR CHILD A PSYCHOPATH?
I'm pretty sure we can have this thread without getting political, there's enough eye-rolling headlines of a similar ilk to typically only cursorily related articles out there.

Doesn't every Daily Mail headline qualify?

Look at a few issues of the New York Post and you'll be sure to find an example or ten.

Food scares
Practically everything can kill you. If we believed them all, we'd be unable to eat anything.

I don't know if it counts, exactly, but one time I signed a Change.org petition (I don't even remember what it was for) and then like every day or every other day I was getting these ridiculously sensationalized emails sent to me like "COPS BRUTALLY MURDER KITTENS IN FRONT OF INNOCENT CHILDREN SIGN THE PETITION IF THAT BOTHERS YOU" and I had to unsubscribe from them because they weren't ever telling the whole story and it irritated me.

Any and every headline related to outer space. They usually end up with discoveries that won't come to pass for millions, if not billions, of years, but the headlines always cut it as if it's going to happen imminently (and hide in the article they won't happen for millions of years). Total fear-mongering headlines that don't get enough press, but should.

The daily articles that proclaim a common food item that WILL MOST CERTAINLY KILL YOU* * must consume twice your body-weight of said food in a 24 hour period to raise your risk of anal cancer by .72%

Pretty much any headline produced by any Murdoch-owned newspaper.

<insert random animal here> flu kills again... in a remote backwater village of a third-world nation with little to no healthcare and vaccination it's a pandemic the entire world is contaminated we are all going to die! No we're not grossly exaggerating the spread and dangerousness of the disease to get people who are unlikely to catch it to buy medicines. And no we will still not point out that it caused about a tenth of the number of victims seasonal flu causes each year, the one nobody is afraid of.

Murdoch owned newspapers are the worst, I might conduct an experiment and see how many are in today's Sun later.
The Daily Mail is the most vile, disgusting paper out there, most of the women at work read it and it drives me insane.
A recent example of Daily Mail loveliness was an article entitled 'She's not just in the wrong body, she's in the wrong job' in which the writer was adamant the subject of the article, a transsexual whose name escapes me, should not work as a teacher, throughout the article the writer consistently referred to her as a male and a few days later she killed herself.
That happened earlier this year and got nowhere near the same coverage as the nurse who killed herself after she put through a hoax call from an Australian radio show to Kate Middleton. Ironically enough, that came about following a furore the Daily Mail were only too keen to head.

In my dream last night I picked up the paper (weird right?) and the headline said "MURDER BRIDGE: CROSS THE BRIDGE TO MEET YOUR KILLER"

If more than one beach-goer gets attacked by a shark in a six-week period, "THE YEAR OF KILLER SHARKS! DON'T BE A VICTIM! THE YEAR OF KILLER SHARKS! HERE'S HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM KILLER SHARKS! BECAUSE THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE KILLER SHARKS!" I live on the southern tip of Lake Michigan and watch Chicago news stations. I don't frickin' go anywhere, how does this affect us?
Which reminds me, have we ever been given the "all-clear" when it came to these so-called "KILLER BEES FROM MEXICO!" about 20-25 years ago?
