Tennant and Tom Baker are probably my two favorite Doctors. Smith was alright. I didn't like him at first, but he grew on me. I also liked Peter Davidson as the Doctor.

1. Paul McGann 2. Colin Baker 3. David Tennant 4. Tom Baker 5. Sylvester McCoy 6. Patrick Troughton 7. Peter Davison 8. William Hartnell 9. Matt Smith 10. Jon Pertwee 11. Christopher Eccleston
This would be my order, at the moment. It changes around a lot. It must be said that I don't have anything against those at the bottom, every actor is fantastic, it's just that some either don't have enough stories to properly judge them, or don't have the quality of storytelling that the others have.

they weren't even gonna DO regenerations at the start! they didn't have a plan until the producers were going to change hartnell into troughton, so they came up with that little trick and they got round the master's regenerations ..... sneaky bastard tennant was humungous in the roll, and matt smith was just about different, but still mad!

I'm assuming this takes audio stories into account, Pertwee and Eccleston are normally near the top when people do these.

Yep, it does take the audios into account. They're probably the most important part of Doctor Who for me now. But to be honest, Pertwee and Eccleston have never been at the top of my list, even pre-audios.

As I have only watched Nu Who I can only rank the 3 Doctors we have of the era.

Doing Lists, eh ?
1)Tom Baker 2)Sylvester McCoy 3)Jon Pertwee 4)Patrick Troughton 5)Christopher Eccleston 6)Peter Davidson 7)Colin Baker 8)Peter Cushing 9)Matt Smith 10)William Hartnell 11)David Tennant 12)Paul McGann
Tennant and Smith play second fiddle to their companions WAY too often for me to really get into their episodes.I'm including Cushing because he was real to me, dammit.

Well Opinions and all that Might as well stick this here, SF Debris has just done an episode on the initial cancellation, thought you might be interested. blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews/dr-who-cancelled-6636808

Keep in mind that I haven't listened to any of the audio stories so my opinion of McGann and Baker could change when I've listened to them. McGann was actually a really good Doctor but unfortunately he only had the one TV appearance. Colin Baker got screwed over by awful writing and behind the scenes shenanigans.
