I understand that comparing this month to last month, where he was constantly fighting Brock Lesnar, and is now constantly fighting with Curtis Axel is a bit of a dropoff. I like the story but this is the main issue I have with it. It's like in FF7 if you beat Sephiroth and then for reason had to go and defeat the Turks again.

I'm really puzzled how people are losing interest in this feud. There's amazing chemistry between Punk and Heyman, they're doing a great job of having Punk always come close but not quite give Heyman the beating he deserves, even if you don't like the guy you got to appreciate that they got Curtis Axel involved and they're not making him look completely useless. I understand that comparing this month to last month, where he was constantly fighting Brock Lesnar, and is now constantly fighting with Curtis Axel is a bit of a dropoff, but the venom between CM Punk and Heyman is still strong. Punk's promo tonight wasn't stellar but feuds don't have to be constantly trying to outdo itself. I think the story is still being told very well. Honestly, I think it's just a case where I'm really not into anyone involved. I don't like Punk, Heyman gets grating for me very quickly, and Curtis Axel sucks. To boot every single segment in this feud seems to go on way too long and it's very melodramatic even by wrestling standards, and I don't like the weird structure it has going pretty consistently of, "Heyman says something, Punk gives a rebuttal an hour later and it turns into a fight." I loved the match with Lesnar and I want a rematch, but from day one absolutely nothing about this storyline has worked for me outside of that match.

If only some overweight fan had booed him then Punk would have had someone to fight.

To me, Punk is the second best talker in the whole company. But that was the most not-CM Punk promo he ever did. It sounded weird with the whole cheap pops and repeating himself. Just awkward 0_o

Punk hasn't been doing it for me for a while. His segments with Heyman have been dragging on way too long week in and week out for months on end now and half the time they are literally gay. Last week's segment with Heyman beating him and telling him he loved him came across as some weird fetish porn and it was kind of uncomfortable to watch for all the wrong reasons.

I always love listening to a CM Punk promo but yeah, his promo last night just didn't do it for me. I got pretty bored of it halfway through - and I actually love the storyline he has with Heyman going on right now. I wish he could've done more with promo.

You left out the part where Punk finished talking and THEN they decided to show the recap package, and then cut back to Punk just waving a kendo stick around

I like this feud a lot.
The only thing really bothering me is that he's just completely ignoring the entire power struggle main event storyline.
Why isn't he made to come out on stage? He doesn't like this kind of corporate BS, he spent a whole summer thinking HHH was behind some sort of corporate setup trying to bring down the "little indie man" and now he doesn't seem to have an issue with it.
Also, why doesn't Brock Lesnar give a shit about Paul Heyman all of a sudden?

I didn't hate the promo, but it feels like they've done so much to set up the match at Night of Champions and the whole "Will Punk get his hands on Paul Heyman?" idea that there's really nothing left to do/say. Unless it's changed to somehow be for the Intercontinental Championship next week, I think Punk's promo on Raw next week will be really similar.

I'd rather listen to Punk talking about nothing for 30 minutes than hear a single word from Triple H.

Having Punk involved in this major main event angle is just too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Honestly, I'll never understand why people think Punk is good on the mic. I agree. When I see him walking the aisle and hear his theme song I sing along but add "cult of (boring) personality." The only time I liked him was when he, Ryder and Cena were in a six man tag and it must've been only the addition of Cena that made him interesting to me. As for the "pipe bomb" that people make out to be bigger than Austin 3:16, Hulkamania's 1984-1993 run, Hogan's N W O heel turn, WWF buying WCW, Montreal Screwjob and whatever huge events have happened in wrestling's past there's one thing they overlook. People make him out to be the savior of the wrestling world yet there's one thing they forget or don't realize...he had the permission of the King of Kings and God of Gods in Triple H and Vince McMahon. There's nothing unique or important about saying something off the wall that your boss gives you permission for. If he truly was a rebel he would have refused to do the Kevin Nash part of the angle knowing it would kill the angle but like a model employee he went with it. And the huge, major, unique "pipe bomb" speech that was given has practically lost any meaning, if it did ever have any.

Outside of a handful of stellar promos, this is the prototypical CM Punk promo. Saying the same thing a dozen or so times with a couple dramatic pauses or buzzwords inserted here or there. Although truth be told, that kinda is the how most all promos in DIS BUSINESS are.
I've often thought if HHH read a CM Punk Promo word for word the average person couldn't tell the different except when HHH would start screaming BEST IN THE WORLD.

To be fair, Punk didn't beat Lesnar at SS, so I take it as him having start from the last checkpoint just before the mid-boss, so he can go through him and get to the final boss, that being Brock.

What got me was that Cody was fired in the previous segment and Punk had nothing to say about that or anything regarding the main storyline. Shouldn't he as one of the biggest stars that they have have an opinion? It's just weird in kayfabe how he is completely isolated from that angle. We have the HHH/Corporation Daniel Bryan Beatdown Hour and then Paul E.'s Playhouse with special guest CM Punk.

Punk's promo was unnecessary last night, that's the only flaw I see. Doesn't invalidate the whole angle. In hindsight, would've been nice to see Punk beat someone then cut a shorter version of that promo. Ham-fisted wrestling writing tells me that it will be explained after he gets his hands on Heyman. "He was so OBSSESSED with Heyman that he didn't realize any of this was going on" etc.

sodomizes the Shield with a kendo stick. No, not kendo sticks. A kendo stick, as in singular. He'll find a way.

Other than it being an obvious case of filling time in between the big parts of the storyline, I thought it was a good promo. Written out actually confirms that for me.
Punk is just the best wrestler for cutting promos.

This was the most generic, neutered Punk promo he's cut in a damned long time. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, for him to go tell the crowd to go f*** themselves, or to eat his d***.
