Y'know, even at his most generic, Punk is still worthwhile to listen to, in my opinion.

What got me was that Cody was fired in the previous segment and Punk had nothing to say about that or anything regarding the main storyline. Shouldn't he as one of the biggest stars that they have have an opinion? It's just weird in kayfabe how he is completely isolated from that angle. We have the HHH/Corporation Daniel Bryan Beatdown Hour and then Paul E.'s Playhouse with special guest CM Punk. Ham-fisted wrestling writing tells me that it will be explained after he gets his hands on Heyman. "He was so OBSSESSED with Heyman that he didn't realize any of this was going on" etc. Maybe he wasn't lying when he said the whole thing was an act. Or maybe we're about to get swerved again.

I don't see the big deal about him ignoring the Corporation crisis. Haven't you ever been so pissed off at something that only your problems matter? We'll get his "I hate to say I told you so" after he's done killing Heyman.

We'll get his "I hate to say I told you so" after he's done killing Heyman. Exactly. Once Heyman's dealt with, it's almost a certainty that Punk's joining the fight against the Corporation. It would be too much of a missed opportunity if they didn't include him in the angle eventually.

Except for HHH basically saying that everyone on the roster needs to be on the stage or face the consequences and one would have to assume that rule remains in effect, but Punk is never out there and no one bothers to mention it. It's nitpicking but still.

It can be summed up as "I'm spinning my wheels until I can get involved in the main storyline. Yep. Still spinning. Steadily rotating... Still going." KEEP ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'

Night of Champions, where a main event wrestler wants to fight the Intercontinental champion, not for his worthless title, but to fight his manager.
What a colossal waste of everyone's time.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me at all if at Night of Champions, Punk eliminates Axel, starts going after Heyman, and then gets ambushed by the Shield. It instantly ties Punk into the main angle, and it gives Heyman and Axel a future beyond feuding with Kofi Kingston or someone. I really do think the Triple H/Heyman segment last night was the seed being planted for an upcoming swerve.

With the story they blew their load about 6 months too early.
As much as I loved the Punk/Lesnar match at Summerslam that shouldn't have happened first, Lesnar should have been the last boss.
They needed to structure out this entire angle a lot better, it sort of screams to me "Punk Summerslam time return" in that Punk's said himself he rushed back as he felt if they didn't strike whilst the iron is hot people wouldn't care, but patience & building for a long term feud is necessary, especially when you've suddenly gone from facing Brock Lesnar in the opening match of the angle to facing Michael pissing McGillicutty, all whilst having shouting matches with no real personal content with the guys manager...
Punk deserves better, but at the same time I wish everyone involved in the angle could have looked at it and gone "wait...we need to slow this down...we're going to be running on fumes otherwise."

He talks too much.
He should have just walked out, looked dead serious at the camera and said "Paul, you said I broke your heart, at Night of Champions, I'm going to break your bones"
Then left.
Then they cut to a terrified looking Heyman backstage with Curtis Axel.

For as big as WWE seems to be on him he's straight-up vanished lately, and if they're going to keep this Lesnar feud going Heyman's going to need more guys.

Despite the fact that Punk and Heyman work incredibly well off one another, and I totally get the "this is personal" thing, it kind of makes Punk look silly.
The guys biggest moment, and I say this not sarcastically, was basically him saying "This place is run like ****, and theres no hope for the future because once the old man croaks ol' funbags and her idiot husband will be in charge. Its all in who ya know and how ya look, our work doesn't matter"...and when that starts happening on screen hes too occupied with his own **** to get involved.

We'll get his "I hate to say I told you so" after he's done killing Heyman. Totally agree. Personally, I don't want Punk to be on the stage with all the other Superstars staring dumbly while Bryan gets his ass kicked every week. He needs, at least for the time being, to be protected. Kayfabe-wise, from the corporation's point of view, the longer Punk is preoccupied with Heyman, the longer he stays out of their hair. As for the promo itself, I didn't have a problem with it but I thought it would have been a lot more effective to have someone like Fandango come down and interrupt him, only to have Punk beat the holy hell out of him with the cane. That way you get both a glimpse into the kind of destruction he's capable of and you have an excuse for him not to be on stage for the final match (security kicks him out). But at least he built up the PPV fairly well. You can't have 5-star promos every week.

I am completely not interested in this angle. Wake me up when Lesnar comes back for Hell in a Cell.

That's something I do enjoy about this feud at least, how Axel is all confident and sure he can beat Punk while being completely ignorant to Heyman clearly thinking he's a loser who can't do a damn thing to stop him.

It seemed like he was trying way too hard to deliver the ''badass'' vibe. I honestly chuckled at the ''I have a dark side'' part.

I still think it should've been Punk vs Cesaro.
Also, if the reports of him and D-Bry ending up fighting the Corporation together turn out to be true, it's gonna look really weird that he's done nothing, then suddenly he's jumped into the fray. Even if they just have him making a little comment in relation to it, I'd be happier.

He'll probably mention how he was too focused on getting revenge on Heyman that he couldn't immediately join the fight against the Hunner Corporation.
