I'm waiting for the day Cameron destroys AJ with a "Girl, Bye." I don't think I'll be able to contain myself if that happens.

I will say that Naomi is the most likable Total Divas Diva. By a pretty wide margin for me.

I'm enjoying the program so far. But, I am rooting for AJ in all this. It was similar to Punk vs Hardy in 09. Hardy was supposed to be the face, but I was rooting for Punk AND. IT. WAS. EPIC. It was such a blast to root for CM Punk in that feud. Poor Jeff was pretty much druggie strawman that Punk got to take apart viciously. Since these aren't real people, a lot of the "good guy/bad guy" dynamic can get lost in which one's opinons I actually agree with, despite their methods. I do watch Total Divas and it's fun in that brain-dead ridiculous way that I used to enjoy shows like Flavor Of Love, but I hate the idea of reality television because of how lazy it's made TV networks. Who needs to write something of quality and find good actors to bring it to life? Just make a dumb high-concept reality show and pay some cheap fame whores next to nothing, it'll get the same ratings if not better. So, I'm rooting for AJ, cuz f*** reality tv.

Putting aside face and heel - I'm rooting for AJ. This is partially because she's the only diva with enough of a defined character to even be called a character and thus wins by default, and partially because Natalya literally said "You're just jealous that you are not a total diva!" which automatically makes the person who did not say that face by default. To be fair, that's only because AJ's the only Diva that WWE has bothered to put any real effort into. Imagine if there was a "Total Superstars" with the male superstars starring the Major Bros., Justin Gabriel, Alex Riley, Prime Time Players + random Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey, and for some random reason, someone like Fandango, Curtis Axel (I know you want to laugh at this) or Ambrose came out and shit all over it. Replace "Fandango, Curtis Axel, or Ambrose" with Randy Orton or CM Punk, and you'd be spot on, because there's the real problem. You have someone in AJ Lee who was getting fifteen-twenty minute promos to open RAW for half or more of 2012, got a PPV cover, was one of the first Divas since the Trish and Lita era to have her own merchandise that wasn't generic "Diva" with the butterfly shit, and most importantly, is currently the Diva's champion. And she's telling a bunch of girls, at least half of whom came into the company three-or-four years before her who've fought through their own injuries (and one of whom been in the business for about a decade), who have never gotten a fraction of the freedom she's gotten, that they're only in wrestling because they couldn't make it in acting. But here's the catch: they're not allowed to have a comeback. They're not allowed to get three minutes, or even one minute, to respond on television. They're not allowed to actually show her up in competition. They basically just recite the show-shilling crap they're given and run around looking like jobbers. This is not CM Punk vs the establishment, this is Kevin Nash vs the New Blood. That's why AJ is the heel and the Total Divas are the faces, IMO. Because this is so uneven, it's one-versus-seven, and they're the underdogs.

I want one of the Total Divas to ask A.J. why, when she was the Raw GM, she didn't make the divas into a legitimate division.

It kind of sucks because I was really excited that Natalya was going to actually get a legitimate title match out of this feud, and then she responds by being god awful on commentary, and being annoying in her rebuttals. At the same time, AJ is just as annoying on her stance, if not more so.
Personally at this point, I'm hoping Naomi or Brie can bring something interesting to the table. So far, Naomi seems like the only one we could possibly root for in the feud.
I guess for me, the Total Divas side of the argument makes a bit more sense, because it's blatantly obvious AJ is jealous that the Total Divas were getting spotlight instead of her while she's champion. Unfortunately because Natalya has done such a crap job of defending herself and the Total Divas, it makes the feud not work.

From what I've seen; she was always good at promos, something very rare in female wrestlers. Natalya has been given a few chances in her career (and admittedly a few lame gimmicks) but has failed to make any connection with the crowds, same for the Bellas -- they have quite obviously been WWE's "pet" Divas since they debuted but most fans don't seem to give a shit about them. And the Funkadactyls have been valets for most of their WWE career (not counting NXT). The reason the other Divas aren't given much mic time is because none of them are good talkers and their acting sucks. Nattie is probably the best of the bunch, and she's terrible (as shown in her commentary on Smackdown last night). The Bellas are monotone as f***. AJ simply out-classes them in every regard.

Here's the thing from my POV, they've made AJ have too good a point.
As people have said, AJ's points come down to the 'wrestlers v models' debate which most, if not all fans, will fall on the wrestling side.
If they was AJ to be a jealous heel, don't give her a good argument, have her be whiny and jealous, it'd hardly be out of character. Keep Big E. with her as a menacing presence behind her, so there's a threatening implication, compensating for the numbers. Have her barge in on Total Diva cast segments and hog the camera.
Having her say 'I've fought for this title, you're just on a reality show' isn't a heelish argument, it's fact. She's used others to even the sides at times, but nothing has suggested she's lying about a point fans of the division really do care about.

It was stupid the moment they decided to promote AJ as a "real wrestler" against Natalya.
No, sweetheart. No.

No. Judging only by their work on RAW, Smackdown, and pay per views, I've been more impressed overall with AJ's matches than Natalya's. I know she gets lots of cred because of her family though.

AJ was given opportunities, but opportunities that no other Diva has even come close to getting. She was put in the middle of the WWE Title feud between Punk, D-Bry, and for awhile Kane, she was named Raw GM, put in a relationship angle with Cena, and put in a relationship angle with Dolph Ziggler. Natalya, the Bellas, and the Funkadactyls, haven't even come close to that push. They get 3 to 5 minutes on Raw, so of course they won't be as over as AJ. AJ's the one the WWE pushes above every other Diva. No other Diva has gotten that chance. Hell, Kaitlyn got over with the feud with Eve, beat Eve, didn't show up much on television, got humiliated by AJ, and tapped out to her 3 title matches in a row. That doesn't do Kaitlyn any favors. And if the reason that the other Divas haven't been given mic time is because none of them are good, and their acting is terrible, AJ should have lost her mic privileges after that proposal segment with Punk and D-Bry. Or when Vickie announced AJ couldn't attack her, and AJ threw a tantrum in the ring.

My problem with the angle is: AJ can talk and wrestle. She is able to tell a story. The others on the other hand: Natalya can wrestle (wish she would stop having a big botch in every single match she's in though). but she is bland. Bellas aren't likable. They sound like robots and wrestle like robots, although Brie is improving, but her trash talk and yelling makes me want to hit my ears with a hammer. Naomi is the only one likeable to me from the Anti-AJ team. But i have no if idea if she has any mic skills at all.

I'm half hoping the TD divas win just so the crowd dumps on the whole thing and the message is once again sent to WWE management that people like wrestling. Just not women's wrestling

I would say the real problem is that its hard not to cheer for A.J when you consider that out of the all the Diva she is by far the one that most of audience both men and women alike can relate to. Deluded, self serving, manipulative bitch? That is really relateable.

Yeah, I'm with the "AJ is the face here" crowd. It's really hard to make a heel out of someone who's completely right in their criticisms towards someone. Also, who the hell is going to watch this angle and think "I gotta see Total Divas!"? You're trashing your own show and you expect that to get viewers? that last point is what I really don't get about this angle. you're basically haing the only Diva the fans actually care about go out there and say "yeah that show's f***ing dumb don't watch it" and never even bothering to provide a counterpoint. then again apparently the shows skew to completely different demos so the people watching Raw already aren't watching it anyway.

I mean, more cheers = the face to me given that's how wrestling's always worked.

Natalya can wrestle (wish she would stop having a big botch in every single match she's in though). but she is bland.. I keep watching Natalya matches, hoping to see what it is that everyone else sees in her to call her the better female wrestler in the division and every single time she's sloppy and botches at least one notable spot in the match. It's gotten to the point now that I no longer believe it and just think it's one of those weird wrestling myths people keep pushing.
