The G1 has been kind of disappointing, but Shibata vs Ibushi was f***ing fantastic.

im wondering about The NJPW Young Boys. Like how do they make the transition to not being young boys? Will they just start getting wins one day? Also NJPW has kind of an old roster. Before this crop of young boys who were their most recents that made the transition to regular roster member? Is there a list of who were together in classes so I could see which years produced the most successful crop of talent?

Is there a list of who were together in classes so I could see which years produced the most successful crop of talent? The Young Lions (their term for them) spend the first two years or so fighting each other and taking the fall in multi man tags to estalblished roster after graduating from The infamous New Japan Dojo. Sho Tanaka and Yohei Komatsu are the standouts and on the verge of breaking through. Once they are deemed ready they usually send them on a year long excursion to North America to gain and develop more experience. CMLL is usually where they send them as Hiromu Takahashi works there as Kamaitachi whilst Takaki Watanabe wrestles for American promotions and shows up at times in ROH. Once their excursion is finished they are called back to New Japan and they are allowed to have their own characters and don attire that isn't just black trunks and boots. El Desperado was the most recent Young Lion who returned from his excursion at last years Wrestle Kingdom. Okada is the most notable given how he was sent to TNA who made him act as Samoa Joe's chaffeur and was called Okato based off of The Green Hornet and upon his return in 2012 became The Rainmaker and The New Ace of NJPW.

Okada won't the only one who'll be sharing the ring with the retiring Genichiro Tenryu.
Katsuyori Shibata will team up with Tenryu on September 2nd during his Retirement tour, to take on Minoru Suzuki and Takashi Iizuka in a tag match.

Tanahashi vs Naito was a top three match for me yet I'm not seeing it get nearly as much love as I'd hoped.

NJPW and ROH have stronger working relationship with NJ talent coming over for Final Battle and the 14th Anniversary PPV. They will have a mix from both on the ROH branded shows in Japan next year. Also, they are rumored to be working together on scheduling so when possible if one company is running, the other is off so there is better talent sharing.

ROH really has become what New Japan always wanted TNA to be.
They're considerate, they treat the New Japan guys well and feature them high up the card, and don't treat New Japan like a second class citizen. In return, New Japan treat ROH well, rather than giving TNA way more than they ever deserved to get. Angle jobbing to Tana and Shinsuke was the only worthwhile thing New Japan ever got out of TNA.
Imagine that TNA. Imagine if you could have Tana or Shinsuke on your shitty little show now...
EDIT: Finally watched the G1 Final. Probably the best Tana/Shinsuke match I've seen, and I've seen all of them.

Sydal and CJ Parker are working a six man tag on the Okayama NJPW show. Teaming with Tanahashi vs the Bullet Club.
Really really hope it's a one time thing. Neither guy should be in NJPW.

I figured that with Sydal winning at FOH this weekend, but after his shot he needs to go. He's got no staying power there in a solo run. CJP I just think is an awful worker. He absolutely has no place in NJPW.
