So Ryback was in deep manure after his heel turn. He lost his big WM match, and was turned into an idiot heel that never won. Now, he's hilarious and bigger and more beautiful than ever before as a Heyman guy. Before that, the idiot Skip Sheffield became the awesome Ryback. This guy saved his own ass TWICE. Everyone used to hate beanie Ryback, but The Big Guy is awesome. Wouldn't you say? Ryback really does rule, and WWE better not screw it up again.

It's more based in the booking than anything he's actually done.

I'm a Ryback mark and have been ever since he was squashing nameless jobbers on RAW. I did think his heel turn was a huge mistake initially, but it's working great right now. The sheer amount of hate some people have for the guy baffles me though.

The mistake in his heel turn was that back then he could have stayed face and really could have been cemented as a top guy by beating cena clean.
Still though he hasn't really suffered a loss besides the tables match. And well he hasn't really had a match.

It's more based in the booking than anything he's actually done. I don't know. He really fits well into the role of the bully character. I don't think any guy could deliver the lines in the way that he does. He's a big goof. Now he's playing a character that's a big goof. It's something that's very comfortable for him to play and he's showing it.

Really it was the job to miz that damaged him the most
He needs to beat miz into submission

Ryback was a good face and heel it's the stupid booking that nearly destroyed him The problem was that his face gimmick was predicated upon him winning matches. As soon as he started losing, the gimmick was in trouble. Didn't matter how he lost, but every loss--which happens a lot to people not named "Cena" or "HHH"--hurt him. It wasn't sustainable. This character doesn't need to win anything because the whole point is that he's a big bully. And the great thing about that character is that him winning or losing enhances the character. Losing makes people say "Big bully is just a bully after all!" and winning gives his character more fuel to use in promos.

Before that Miz thigh kicks thing, all that "Ryback is being ruined" talk was just extreme overreaction.
Two PPVs in a row he was booked as being more than capable of winning the WWE title clean, then he comes in runner-up of Royal Rumble match, then the series of 3-on-3 defeats to the Shield where he was still booked as nearly unstoppable. The loss to Mark Henry at WM was weird, but then that was immediately followed by two PPV title challenges where he came close to beating Cena both times. I don't see how that was a career going downhill.
If anything, it was only the Jericho feud with the whole "Cryback" thing and Miz kick incident that suggested he might be getting ruined. But that came and went pretty quickly. It would be more accurate to say he overcame a blimp in his career than saying he saved it.

His face character had no legs, unless he literally won forever. His bully character was just that: an actual CHARACTER. That's all it ever takes.

hey c'mon. what's wrong with "Be a Star" Ryback out to save the WWE from all the bullies in the company? They should have done parody "Be A Star" type PSA's with Ryback bullying people he mistakenly thought were bullies. Like a bald, American version of Zangeif from the Street Fighter Movie.

Just my opinion, but I still don't see a damn good thing about Ryback. I just don't. Nothing he does impresses me in the slightest way.

Ryback hasn't saved himself with anything. The WWE have saved him twice, which amusingly enough, is because they saddled him with stupid booking twice. 'Hey let's push a new babyface, why not. What do you mean we pushed him and he got over? That son of a bitch, turn him heel immediately!'
