I also heard that in the 80's, theaters cheered for Rocky and booed Ivan Drago like of they were in the crowd watching the fight Got that right. I was 11, went with my brother and our cousin. You had full-grown men jumping up to their feet, swinging their popcorn around, yelling for Rocky to "kick that Commie's ass!" Rocky V wasn't as fun. There was like a handful of us and it was a Saturday afternoon on opening weekend! The street fight at the end was a little wild with the crowd, but there wasn't a theater full of people like the previous movie. (Ever watch Eddie Murphy Raw where he talks about guys going to Rocky movies? He's not that far off.) Funniest was a trailer for one of those Kid & Play "House Party" movies, and Queen Latifah was one of the featured players. Had these ladies behind us all amped up, talking about "The QUEEN! That's right, that's my girl right there!"

In Iron Man, in that scene on the airplane when it cut to the flight attendants dance and the stripper pole comes out of the floor, a guy stood up and yelled "Tony Stark is a pimp!" Then he high fived his buddy and sat back down.

2 I can think of...
1. Star Wars episode 3(revenge of the sith)- When Yoda shows up to fight the Emperor and he just casually force shoves the 2 guards away and knocks them out, the whole place was laughing/clapping. (This happened everytime I saw the movie)
2. Avengers- Besides the obvious Hulk & Ironman scenes, the 2nd time I saw it with a friend, there were a group of 12-14 year olds sitting in the first couple of rows and they kept talking and changing seats throughout the first half. We were about halkway up the theatre. Some people around them tried to tell them to be quiet, but it wasn't until my friend yelled "WOULD YOU ALL SHUT THE F*** UP!" that they finally shut up and then someone also said "thank you" to him.

How did I forget Hulk vs. Loki for my biggest crowd pops?
If you haven't seen my DVDVR post, three other biggest ones I've seen were:
1) Batman Forever and "Holy rusted metal" (seriously, everyone cheered after the joke) 2) South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut: Bill Gates dies. Actually, there was so much laughter for most of the movie I couldn't hear much of the movie itself! 3) The Dark Knight = Joker's pencil trick...or was it just me and my group marking out?

1) During Scary Movie, every time the killer would jump out at someone, regardless of how silly it was played, a woman behind us would scream. She wasn't even trolling the place either.
2) Can't remember the film. There were a group of teens up the back of the theatre making a lot of noise. One of them decides to go to the bathroom or whatever and comes running down the steps as fast as he could. Only he trips and faceplants into the floor, knocking himself out completely. All his mates laughed so everyone else just assumed he was messing about. He lay there for a good 10 minutes before eventually getting back to his feet and staggering out the door.

At the end of The Fellowship Of The Ring a man behind me was confused as to why Frodo hadn't thrown the ring in the volcano and assumed a reel must have been missing. So despite the pre-release hype for the trilogy, the movie being three hours long as it was and the f***ing credits rolling while people walked out he decided to tell his daughter to wait where she was while he went and spoke to the manager, sadly I lost him in the crowd and really needed a piss so I never heard that conversation.

Any reaction.
Stay the hell quiet. I paid to watch a film, not hear you.

One I did love was when I was watching Wreck-It-Ralph and it came to the 'Nesquick-sand' joke. About two thirds of the audience groaned in utter disgust at the pun, it was hilarious.
Also, at the Dark Knight Rises when two guys were dressed as Batman and Bane.

- Biggest pop(s) for something in a movie you've witnessed? The Avengers assembling after Hulk smashed the Chitari dragon-thing.
- Most negative heat for something etc etc? Spider-Man 3's "I forgive you". Whole theater booed the shit out of Peter Parker, and it was glorious.
- Strangest reaction to something etc. etc.? A kid laughed himself stupid in The Incredible Hulk when they killed Banner's dog.
- Funniest reaction to etc. etc. etc.? I have two.
Batman Begins after Rachel slaps Bruce twice in the face for showing her the gun, during the moment of silence in between that and the dialogue, this guy yelled at the top of his lungs "Hit that bitch back!".
And another from The Incredible Hulk, when Banner and Betty start to make out on her bed, that same freaking kid yelled "This is the lamest part!".

I went to see the Longest Yard. Every time Nelly was on screen a group of about 3-4 girls behind me shrieked. I don't mean just made a squeaking noise. Those little bitches screamed. And not just every scene he was in. Every time they cut to him. So he's be having a conversation with Adam Sandler.
Nelly: (line) *scream* Adam Sandler: (line) *silence* Cut back to Nelly: (line) *scream*
EVERY. GOD. DAMN. TIME.
I did have a fun experience seeing Birdemic: Shock and Terror in theatres. I saw it with just a small group and we all took turns yelling criticisms at the screen. That was fun.

The audience reactions in the theater when I saw the Avengers were incredible. Hulk punching Thor, Thor saying that Loki was adopted, and Hulk beating down Loki all got HUGE reactions.

Best: Borat. It was the greatest movie I've seen. Everyone was rolling. It was a blast.
It doesn't hold up the slightest anyway, especially w/o that environment.

Basically, Sandman admits to Peter Parker that he was the guy who actually shot Uncle Ben while he and his partner were getting away from the arena robbery. Uncle Ben was a central element to the series, and the audience loved him. So, for the main character to just forgive the guy who murdered him really ticked people off.

That's ridiculous, how are the audience supposed to connect with Spidey after that?!

I remembered another two
I was watching ParaNorman. At one point the father tells Norman to go "play with your orbs". In the context of the film, he's trying to get rid of him so picks a random supernatural thing that a 'weird kid' might do. Obviously the joke is that the orbs are meant to be his balls but the kids watching don't know that. One kid was curious though and shouted, "Daddy, what are his orbs?" at the top of his voice.
During one of the later Harry Potter films, about 3 seconds before Dobbie gets killed, the kid behinds us shouts (again at the top of his voice), "Oh this is where Dobbie dies!". Good thing I had read the book.

During the battle rap scene at the end of 8 Mile, everyone was reacting as if they were at the rap battle. Lots of yelling and cheering.

Closest thing to a biggest pop I can remember was for Halloween: H20 when Laurie Strode chopped off Michael Myers' head with an axe at the end of the movie.

X-Men: The Last Stand: Someone burped right after the end of the 20th Century Fox fanfare. The entire audience erupted in laughter.
Spider-Man 3: As divisive as this movie was, the atmosphere was real fun. Everybody gasped when MJ kissed Harry, laughed when Peter started dancing, and gasped again when Peter accidentally hit MJ.
The Dark Knight: Another fun experience. There were at least three moments where the audience nearly jumped out of their skin: when Fake-Batman slammed into the window, when The Joker yelled "LOOK AT ME!" and when Harvey yelled "SAY IT!"
