Miz heel turn at Battleground

With the way Miz has been booked against Orton and the crowds less than enthusiastic acceptance of him, I feel like this could be a real possibility. I think that by starting this mini-feud between Miz and Orton, if Miz ran down to the ring in the middle of the match at Battleground, it would appear that he was out to screw Orton. However, I don't think it would be a stretch for Miz to betray Bryan. His explanation would write itself. The WWE locker room let Orton nearly end his career in front of his family, and not one person ran down to help him. Meanwhile, when Daniel Bryan was in trouble, everyone came running to his rescue. He can make reference to the fact that the WWE Universe actually wanted Randy Orton to hurt him despite the Miz going out of his way to pose for pictures, sign their autographs, and kiss their babies. Basically, HHH and Stephanie were right that he didn't make the most of his opportunities, but it was only when he started worrying about what the fans wanted that he went off course.

This would be a good test to see if Bryan is so over as a face that he can transfer heat to Miz who really hasn't drawn strong interest one way or another for over a year, but has shown in the past that he can. It allows Orton to retain and sets up another feud for Bryan to keep things fresh.

I think they should wait. As a face, he could still work especially if they tie him with Bryan a bit more.

The guy has been booked as a smarmy talk show and glorified guest star for a year. Of course, the fans aren't going to instantly take to him. Patience is key.

I don't know if it was just a filler for UK audiences, but there was a Miz promo video thing that seemed 100% heel. He talked about how many title he'd won and how he was the face of the company etc (an old promo then).

They need to do something with him, because his face turn has been horrendous.

Agreed. It'd feel much more natural than his current babyface second-rate SRS Jericho gimmick. They've got to see that he's just sinking in his current role. He excels as a smug heel, so everyone would be much better off if they used him as such.

I laughed last night when he tried to play a bad ass face. Even more hilarious was when the crowd was cheering for Orton when he was trying to murk Miz.

I don't want Miz to be a bad ass, and if he turns heel, it's just going to be worse. I'd rather Miz be a self aware comedy guy who makes fun of himself and takes the piss out of himself for his awkward facial expressions.
