Like this post if your first thought was about the wrestler/actor.

Like this post if your first thought was about the wrestler/actor. I did not. I figured right away, due to the section, that this would just be a case of the same name. That was very heroic of the father. I hope his daughter will not suffer from survivor's guilt.

Note how I didn't specify a context... It could easily be something as innocuous as "Rock? Nah...". But yeah... still sad about the actual guy.

I find it very disturbing that when covering the tragic story of a man sacrificing himself to save his daughter, these "journalists" mostly saw an opportunity to grab extra viewers by misleadingly making them believing a celebrity was involved as well as making a pun mocking the man's cause of death. Keep it classy, Huffington Post.

Keep it classy, Huffington Post. Let's see, they reported the man's name. He happens to have the same name as a celebrity and the only one who has made even close to a pun was me and the guy who posted while I was writing this.

Had he been called anything else, they would have titled the story "Colorado Man dies while saving daughter", posting it with the title "Dwayne Johnson, Colorado Rock Slide Victim, Sacrificed Life To Save Teen Daughter" really comes off as them having a giggle at a guy because he was crushed by rocks and his name Dwayne Johnson! And people may even think it's the famous one! Oh boy it's so hilarious because he's dead and his daughter is traumatized! I don't even mind people laughing at tragedy but when professional journalists put the main focus on how it's hilarious that the dead guy's name is ironic in the context of his death, I can't help but be somewhat disturbed.

Still a very noble sacrifice on the part of the father.

You make an assumption that it's unusual for them to put the name of someone they're writing about in the headline. For Huffington, it's not unusual, they do it fairly regularly, like here, and here. That's just on the main page today and isn't even all of the examples, there are many others throughout the site. They put the names of the subjects of stories in the headline often, so to add an ulterior motive to the fact that they did it to poke fun at his name, which they never did in the course of the story, is ridiculous to me. It sounds like you're just making up a reason to be outraged by it, maybe because this thread probably was posted because of his name. But Huffington didn't act any differently from normal.

Okay fine, maybe I did overreact on that one but please, if you're going to give me shit about making assumptions, don't make assumptions about me yourself.

Based on the section and the fact there was no 800 page thread about The Rock's death in WWE Current, I knew immediately that it was just a case of the same name.

Dwayne Johnson killed by Rock.... really, I thought it was the other way around.
and to show I'm not a heartless son of a bitch.... here's hoping his family can recover, and he did die a hero.
... nah, still heartless son of a bitch.
