I say they buried Luger and I realize how that sounds. Most folks on the Internet hear buried and think microphone or they limit it within the scope of that particular match or segment. What I meant was, Luger was pushed to the moon for almost a year as a baby face and a threat to Flair. That is after they had him as a sort of tweeter with the most over heel group who people almost wanted to cheer. After the starcade match Luger got forgotten about almost instantly. He was off TV for weeks, meanwhile Steamboat comes back and is the new lead baby face with ZERO transition between Luger and no program for Luger. Led comes back with little fanfare and enters a program with Barry Windham for the us Title. I could be wrong but I thought I read or heard something about that supposing to have been for Sting. Anyhow, lex gets the second tier title program with Windham. Both of those two were great in their own right. Barry was as great a worker, talker as you want and got great heat as the unbeatable badass US Champ. Luger had the lead in of coming off a main event program but at the same time why in heels name was he not the world champion or rematch ing the world champion? Lex wins, Windham goes to Titan a few months after Anderson and Blanchard and Luger gets switched heel suddenly to fill the void. Now if instead of losing heroically to Flair and going nowhere, Luger wins. Fans would have shit themselves. Flair had that much heat. They wanted him to lose every night. Luger comes out a week later and plants a seed of a heel turn in every promo. In matches he gets closer to defeat as hungry challengers come at him. He is forced to start short cutting BC he loves the title he fought so hard for, so badly. He sells that he will do anything to hold onto it. He becomes what he hated. He becomes Flair. He surrounds himself with heels to protect his belt and beats everyone by hook or crook. The heat would be intense. Sting comes back in. Build sting. Sting gets his shot at Luger and wins it finally.
If you think that shorts us Flair/Steamboat, it doesn't. It just doesn't have the NWA belt. But that feud does not need a title, trust me. Out of this you get a strong main event worker who is now better rounded. You get sting as a main event and future of the company. You still get your clicks out of Steamboat. Heel the rest of 89&90 can happen exactly the way it did.

I should also mention that both were fun clustermesses that were ruined by incompetent referee Tim White, which is why I can't enjoy matches with this bearded buffoon in charge. He's like the worst referee I've ever seen. Shhh...he might hear you. He's very, very sensitive about this sort of thing. You want to be the one responsible for Tim White throwing himself in front of a train or going for a swim with weights around his ankles?

Brock vs Goldberg But only because that match was so so so so shithouse. Even if they were both staying I can't imagine that match would be any good for some reason.

The Hell in a Cell between The Undertaker vs. The Big Bossman at WrestleMania XV was awful. I thought it would be awesome and have all sorts of blood and carnage any Hell in a Cell match would have. Instead, all I saw was seven minutes of crap. Then, the Bossman got hung by the Brood. What an embarrassment. The only good thing about that match was Taker's entrance.

HHH vs. J.R that one time they had a match on Raw; that match was so uncomfortable to sit through. I didn't even care at the end when HHH lost, the damage had been done already.

We drove for over 4 hours, across at least 4 counties that were in level 3 snow emergencies, and Jim Ross vs Eric Bischoff (complete with karate demonstration) was our main event. No dark main event either, they were tearing things down as soon as the match ended. I haven't been to a WWE show since, and last year I was given tickets to RAW as a gift...sold em. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7swwfvbJinU

I always wondered if this was supposed to be the night Steve Austin returned from his self-imposed vacation, but he couldn't get to the show because of the weather. Second vote for HHH winning the 4-way match at Wrestlemania. It was months before I watched wrestling again. After he went over Booker T in a second Mania main event, I stopped watching The WWE altogether. Wrestlemania is the culmination of a year's worth of storylines, and I think using it to build the next PPV is terrible.
