She really did give a good effort in the ring tonight. This would have been an easy match for her to just mail it in since she wasn't going over, but she really did seem to try to put on a good match. The match wasn't a classic or anything, but with how low peoples's expectations were, I think it was fairly alright mostly due to Brie's improvment.

Though I'm not a fan of the Bellas by any means (and for many reasons), Brie isn't nearly as bad in the ring as some people make her out to be. She's improved alot over the years.

Nikki Bella, on the other hand is a whole different story...

Brie has improved a lot over the past couple of years. Being with Bryan has to help a bit.

If anything, having Bryan as a boyfriend/mentor with Sara Del Rey down in NXT can only serve as a good thing for the in-ring ability of Brie. She's easily set to become the top face in the Divas division by affiliation with Bryan alone. Let her share some moves, incorporate YES into her thing and she'll be top face diva in no time.

I wouldn't call myself a Bellas fan by any means, but at least they're at the point where when they're on I don't have the urge to change the channel anymore.

I thought they put on a great match, and AJ and Brie both deserve credit. To be honest, I think that with very few exceptions, if you give them the time, the storyline and the focus, most of the Divas can have high-quality matches. I thought they told a good story, did some unique spots, and had an unpredictable finish that didn't feel like a cop out. The only possible criticism was a few audible called spots, but other than that, I'd say it was one of the most enjoyable matches of the night.

Really? I thought the match was horrible. It was part of a succession of horrible matches that very nearly made me go to bed. I'm not sure whether it was the worst on the show (there were a fair few bad matches, it's hard to pick the worst) but it did suck in my opinion. WWE did something fantastic with AJ and Kaitlyn early this year, they built-up the rivalry well and they had a decent match at Payback (it wasn't a classic but it was pretty awesome by diva's standards). Why we can't have that every month for the diva's is beyond me.

Of the two I've always thought Nikki was clearly better in the ring. Both are poor as babyfaces, but Nikki is also the better heel (which makes sense given her actual personality on Total Divas).

Yeah I liked last night's match, I do like Brie more than Nikki after seeing them on Total Divas, but the only problem I see with Brie as a babyface is that while the moves she uses for her comeback are energetic an fiery, you really don't see Brie herself really fire up. I do miss the old school babyface fire with the shaking fists and the intensity on the face.

I didn't want to be that guy in an appreciation thread of sorts, but since you started it...

Brie is awful. Kelly Kelly bad. She's got no balance, she's not feeling the action as much as just trying to get through it, she makes those annoying Lex Luger OUWFFFF noises the whole time, just a mess. And she's been in WWE since 2009. AJ did an okay carry job, but she's not experienced enough to expected to carry someone like that, plus she got a concussion at some point apparently.

People defended K2 too, so I get it. But nope.
