Chanting can get super old super quick. Sure, you bought your ticket, you can do what you want......But at some point you're directly interfering with other patron's ability to enjoy the show and that's well beyond rude. You're not necessarily adding to the match like you think. You're trying to put yourself over and it's pathetic. Not that all chants/chanters fit this mold, but f@$*! if most don't. A good chant can indeed add heat to a match and probably means the World to those working, but those are few and far between. It's about you having fun, yeah, but not in a bubble. There are other people trying to enjoy themselves too, not to mention the fact you might irk the performers and cause them to eff the show up for everybody. Wrestling is essentially theater yet you don't see them face such adversity somehow. BO-RING! BO-RING! TYBALT SHOUL'VE WENT OVER! Are you serious? Chanting doesn't effect anyone's ability to enjoy a show. If someone is at a wrestling show and they're having a bad time because of something someone is chanting, they really should not be at a wrestling show in the first place! I can tell you that is 100% wrong. I was at the show after Wrestlemania and the crowd absolutely ruined the show for me. I have watched wrestling for almost 30 years and have attended countless shows and that was the only show where I did not enjoy myself. The crowd annoyed me so bad that I couldn't enjoy myself. I have been to shows after that and enjoyed them. I have no issue at all with the crowd chanting stuff that pertains to the match. Chant "Yes" when Bryan is involved. Do the Fandango dance when his music plays. But when the crowd is chanting random things just to do so, it takes me completely out of the show. So I speak from personal experience that the crowd can ruin a show for some people.

My honest opinion on the chants:
When it's a really boring match with people I don't care about (like Sheamus/Orton on the night after 'Mania), the chants are great and maybe even add to the show.
But if it's a match or a debuting wrestler/gimmick that I've been wanting to see, then it annoys me.

Frankly, it will not get as annoying as WHAT because at the very least random chants need to never be consistent by definition. So they have that going for them. Also I think that chanting RANDY SAVAGE during Randy Orton matches will forever be great because of that split second the first time it happened when he looked at the crowd after they said Randy and then frowned when he heard SAVAGE like "...Wait that can't be right."
I think it's pretty fun most of the time.

12 years! 12 years of the 'WHAT?!' chant, and we've still not got an Andrew Sachs cameo.

Have the fans ever chanted for Mr. Perfect during a Curtis Axel match? They did at a taping I went to earlier this year, when he was still Michael McGillicutty, he was facing Jimmy Uso. I tried to start a Rikishi chant to counter it which failed.

Its extremely stupid and beyond idiotic
We'll chant random stuff that has nothing to do with anything and when the WWE doesnt listen to us we'll do it more. But when they do we'll still do it but we still wont buy any ppvs, cheer,or do whatever the WWE wants.
It is basically smarks trying to get themselves over in a hey Im edgy,Im cool type of way.
Itll be one thing if the chants had something relatable to people in WWE,(fandago, yes,no,zach ryder,cm punk, somebody)but they dont.
And saying its fine bc I dont like those guys,is beyond stupid,bc its still detrimental in one.
Its the same mentality thats always been with the smarks,"theyre wrestling hipsters to the extreme basically".
We'll cheer who we want not who tge WWE wants, and we'll back a guy who WWE doesnt,oh but when they do we hate him now.Case in point(Del Rio,CM Punk,AJ,DB,Cena)
Smarks are the same like people who only cheer Cena and dont care about anyone else.
By chanting random stuff and only cheering no matter the alignment your "favs",while at the same time not moving the needle or increasing viewership, ppv buys, merchandise, and crapping on everything else, It creates a black hole of mediocrity.
You dont care about these guys,ok fine but when you get DB vs CM Punk,Shield vs DB,Ziggler as World Champ and nothing increases, and ratings and ppv buys Lower and those guys start getting hated come on.
Cheer and boo whoever you want fine but chanting random stuff is beyond stupid and helps nobody, its detrimental
Look at the past 3 WM post crowds, all cheered the heels booed faces whatever 1st and 2nd didnt do Random chants One was for Ryder and was a loud crowd throughout the show cheering booing, 2nd did the same but chanted for DB whole time and what happened he got put in a very prominent spot, tag team with Kane and is where he is now towards a me event spot bc of consistency after that and support
the last one had the fandago theme but instead of support to people crapped on every guy they didnt like, chanted show your tits, puppies, piss break towards the divas, did random chants and only reacted to the guys the liked, alignment, story, purpose be damned and aside from fandago getting a slight boost,it brought everything down.
Instead of trashing people bc WWE supports them they should try to bring up people they support Chant for Ziggler,Sandow,AJ,Natalya,Rhodes
the support makes an influence and can change things, but chanting random crap gets nowhere.
DB list in 18 sec but due to DB support he recovered and is now in a me spot, if instead the smarks trashed Sheamus and not cheered DB,and chanted for him then DB wouldnt be where he is now, itll just be stronger hate for Sheamus for beating our fav and being WWE supported like what happened with Ziggler/Del Rio,Cena/Barrett,Orton/Christian,Orton/DB,Sheamus/Ziggler.
Hate breeds contempt, Regardless of alignment, show support rather than chanting random things trying to be edgy(what are you,12,the 90s were almost 15 years ago, complete hipsters)
Those people are just ruining the show and helping nobody Truth

99% of the time I don't really pay attention to what the fans are chanting, and if I do, it's definitely not enough to take me out of what I'm watching.
Am I just weird or something?

I was at the last 2 post-Mania Raw's, although it was only really Jersey that this was a "problem". I say problem in parenthesis as I don't believe I've had a better time at a WWE show than that night. That's including 4 Mania's, my first shows, the UK tours - nothing had me leaving the arena with as much of a smile as that.
And when I'm at this year's post Mania Raw I may sing:
WE'LL SING WHAT WE WANT WE'LL SING WHAT WE WAAAAAAANT f*** THE IN-TER-NET WE'LL SING WHAT WE WANT!

You're not weird and I'm not just saying that because I'm in the same boat. Chants just don't get to me unless it's something really messed up, or something really funny. What really annoys me are the corny ass retorts wrestlers use.
