from another forum, and that forum probably took it from the chikara spam or the chikara site.
In February of 2006, we ushered out an old CHIKARA tradition, and ushered in a new era for our company. The annual Tag World Grand Prix, a monstrous tag team tournament that dated back to 2003, was laid to rest as we finally crowned Campeones de Parejas. With Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli victorious in the tournament, and with CHIKARA gold proclaiming them the finest tag team in the world, the need for a Tag World Grand Prix had expired.
So, this coming February, we're going to give you crazy CHIKARA fans your tournament fix - have no fear. But it won't be tag team overload like you've come to expect from our Season Premiere. When we return to action on Friday night, February 16th of 2007, it will be with the first night of a little something we call King of Trios. Six-man tag team matches are our specialty, and we're going to load up the tournament with some top-notch trios from around the wrestling landscape.
Basic information regarding our tournament is already posted over at chikarapro.com, where you can currently scope out the venues, order your advance tickets to the shows, and even read up on the first confirmed trio for the tournament. More info will be posted on our site, and announced via our weekly podcast.
KING OF TRIOS: February 16 - 17 - 18, 2007
Night 1: American Legion Hall in Hellertown, PA
935 Main Street, right off the Rt. 78 exit!
Night 2: Ryan Township Fire Hall in Barnesville, PA
945 Barnesville Road/Route 54 East!
Night 3: ECW Arena/New Alhambra in South Philadelphia, PA
7 Ritner Street, right on the corner of Swanson!
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS!
In the weeks and months to come, we'll be revealing the sixteen trios taking part in our February tournament. And lucky you, the first three-man team is already confirmed for the tournament. Two past CHIKARA stars will return to the fold to join CHIKARA regular "Sweet n' Sour" Larry Sweeney for King of Trios. "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder is back on the scene after a long absence, and he joins forces with his protege-by-osmosis Larry Sweeney, and the legendary Robbie Ellis, of Sports Illustrated fame. Ellis, just back from a tour of Italy, marks his return to a CHIKARA ring after last visiting us in 2003 during our Allentown run.
I mark for MITCH RYDER, even though I'm the only one on this board who even knows he is!
